In my opinion I think that medal of honour is a very good series and I would say they were the pioneers in that genre.

What do you think ?
Am I right or just talking rubbish?

Hope to hear your opinions.

I haven't played the whole series.

I bought Allied Assault for PC because of all those Omaha Beach trailers. The game wasn't fantastic or anything, but it certainly wasn't bad. Had enough of a Saving Private Ryan feel to it at times to make it entertaining, despite it's complete lack of story to connect the missions.

I got Frontline as a gift for the GameCube. It felt like more of the same that I got with Allied Assault.

I bought Rising Sun thinking it'd be awesome, because the Pacific Theater is very rarely portrayed in games. It felt like more of the same.

I borrowed a copy of Airborne while I was working at an electronics store. It felt like more of the same, but slightly prettier.

I thought about buying Medal of Honor when it came out last year, but after having played Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2... it looked like... well... more of the same. Found out later from friends that it was, indeed, more of the same.

Granted, by saying this, I'm not saying I felt any of the ones I played were bad or anything. Just that they all felt kinda bland to me. No real hook to draw me in. And I like military history...

I'm guessing you mean modern infantry FPS war series... because Total War is the best war series ever :p

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I played Allied Assault a while ago and it was neat at the time but nothing too memorable.

I quite like 1, Underground and Frontline. The latest one was basically a smaller version of BC2 though.

Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, was the true MoH game for the Pacific theater, nothing like that piss take of a game Rising Sun was, It portrayed the training of Marines and the attack on Pearl Harbour with great execution, and plus, it actually had a story!

Well Eyropean Assault has some of the greatest main menu music I've ever heard.

The only other MoH games I've played are Vanguard and Airborne.

Vanguard was crap and the last level was a pain in the ass.

Airborne was pretty good and jumping out of planes was fun and looked really good.

I only played the Medal of Honor collection for the PS2 and of those three my favorite was European Assault for the simple fact that I was having fun and forgot it was a WWII game.

I believe you mean a different term as 'war' ranges from ever since mankind existed, all the way to modern warfare.

Total War takes that title :p.

It's hard to say OP, in that genre I feel that since it's not exactly producing good quality games or at least good-selling games that it's prime is past. Whereas Battlefield and Call of Duty are still going, regardless of whether or not they're good or not.

Now I don't mean that just because they haven't released a game in a long time that it's automatically worse but just saying that if Medal of Honour wants a vote for 'best war series ever' it's going to have to do something new and interesting.

My only experience with Medal of Honor came with the most recent entry in the series, which, frankly, was underwhelming. So from what little experience I have with it, Medal of Honor does not impress me.

Ah, MoH. I remember getting the first one when it came out on the PS1. Good days. Now everyone keeps saying it's copying CoD. Which I'm certain copied Battlefield, which I'm certain (Although correct me if I'm wrong) was the first WW2 series to go into modern settings.

Personally, my favourite war series is Battlefield. I spend more hours on 2 (PS2) than I did for just about any other FPS.
