Hello there,

I started playing this fine game again as i missed it and i was bored at home from uni and felt like a challenge.

So anyway, i started in the 11th century and i had conquered everything basically to the right of Poland leading down to Georgia then the Mongolians show up, this is not compleatly unexpected but obviously they overwhelm the army i had their as it was 24000 vs about 7000 anyway in the fury of battle i manage to kill thier king and they become rebel factions and yet they still storm across my empire with little resistance and after about 5 years of fighting for it have taken Kiev. Although when the faction reemerged i was quick to assassinate the king and his heir. there are still about 19000 Mongolians with not much to do so are deciding to destroy Poland.

any hints or tips on how to get rid of them as the best spearmen i can build can only really take down half a unit of one of thier heavy cavelry before being routed and my royal knights are just too few in number to take them down.

so any battle tactics, formations, or advancements you can advise as thus far my best tatic was to fill a bridge with spearmen, have them attack me adn pummel them with seige equipment and archers.

When facing overwhelming odds there are a few tactics and battle plans you can use;

In open battle with keep your units close, forming column with melee, centring pikemen or spearmen with cavalry flanking.

Now, to deal with the heavies have a sacrifice ready, charge them in and try to run through them. If done right you can attack them with your main forces from behind and kill them (attack retreat attack retreat).

Sorry, the Mongolians rampaged through Poland back then. You are supposed to lose historically ;p
