Meet Two-Face

The latest media burst from Batman: Arkham City offers fans a bio and glamorous headshot of Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face.

The following mini-biography should come as little surprise to DC Comics fans or those of us who grew up on the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm Batman: The Animated Series:

Real Name: Harvey Dent
Alias: TWO-FACE
Occupation: Professional Criminal
Base: Gotham City
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown/Grey
Height: 6 ft
Weight: 182 lb

First Appearance: Detective Comics #66 (August 1942)
? Attribute 01: Hideously scarred on the left half of his face, which he plays up with clothing that's differently styled on one side
? Attribute 02: Extremely skilled with his weapons of choice: twin .45 automatics
? Attribute 03: Psychotic obsession with duality, designing crimes around the number two
? Attribute 04: Defers to his half-scarred coin in choices of life or death

Background Story: District Attorney Harvey Dent was one of Batman's strongest allies in Gotham City, until a criminal threw acid in Dent's face, hideously scarring him. The wounds fractured his psyche, and he was reborn Two-Face, a schizoid criminal mastermind  obsessed with duality. His former good-luck charm, a "two-headed" trick silver dollar, was damaged on one side in the attack, and Dent has seized on it as a reflection of his half-scarred visage. He flips it to decide the fates of his victims. Two-Face is thriving in Arkham City, rallying inmates to join his gang using tried and true campaign tactics.

Likewise, the accompanying image is basically what you would expect from a picture of Two-Face. Sharp, two-tone suit? Check. Well-coifed hairdo? Check. Horrific facial mutilation? Double check.

Some may see this as as a dull, rote take on a character as easily defined by his fragmented psyche as his contrasting aesthetics, but I see it as a sign of commitment from developer Rocksteady Studios to adhere as closely as possible to the fan-favorite depictions of Arkham City's cast.

This is where comic book fans should breathe a sigh of relief. Rocksteady seemingly has no plans to add extraneous nipples [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118688/] to any part of this project.

To be honest I don't really think there is another way you can show two-face, like OP said, it's what people expect. Nothing exciting here, but am looking forward to Batman AC

Honestly, if you keep Two-Face the way he is, it's pretty generic. Still glad to see him in the game scene. Always been a pretty decent mobster.

FYI: Biggest change when it came to Two-Face? Batman forever. His mutilated face was on the right side, his suite was extreme to the max, and he was hyper. n.n;;

Every time some kind of thing like this comes around it only reminds me of how Arkham City is not out yet... well I guess I will go play through Arkham Asylum again!

Really escapist? I have to watch an ad to get my captcha?
Also, captcha: Pants Evolved <-- skynet 2.0? Only time will tell

Oh man I am so excited for this game. On a sort of unrelated note, when I was at HP 7 pt. 2 (man that's a mouthful) I saw the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises and started spazzing out in my chair. It got me some weird looks from my friends but I didn't really care.

Two-Face has always kinda been my favorite Batman villain.

Don't get me wrong, the Joker is awesome and classic... but I always just dug Two-Face.

As good as the Joker was in The Dark Knight, I was really hoping Two-Face would be the main villain in the 3rd film.

OT: Arkham Asylum was great... so Two-Face being in this just = win.

Can't wait for this game. Two-Face is my 2nd favourite Batman villain so him being in this game is just awesome.

Why is everyone saying Two-Face is a generic villain? He's a man who was horribly disfigured by the profession that he swore himself to serve, the profession that was actually helping Gotham. He ended up becoming what he was fighting. Add on to that the fact that Batman was, and still is, a good friend of his and you have a dynamic hero/villain relationship.

Go read The Long Halloween if you can't get what I'm saying.

Excellent, all of these notes combine into a McDuckian wealth of good news.

I want a collector's edition with a replica of Two Face's coin inside! How awesome would that be?
Very awesome, but then what would I do with my Dark Knight Two Face coin?

Haven't we already known that Rocksteady holds true to what we want? Don't we have a whole game of proof for that?

"Attribute 02: Extremely skilled with his weapons of choice: twin .45 automatics"

I would of preferred a revolver personally, but then again I was a fan of the most recent Batman film and not the rest of the Batman catalogue of things.

Two-Face is my all time favorite Batman villain. So glad Rocksteady has added him into the mix for the sequel.

If there is any kind of good fortune in the world, they'll add an avatar piece to the downloads so I can have my XBL avatar flipping Harvey's coin.

Excellent. Nothing new, but a lot of older details distilled into their best forms...it'll be nice to see Two-Face acting as an actual villain and character again rather than a flat bit player with no purpose past facilitating Chris Nolan's themes. *cough* That aside, I do like how they've kept the Dark Knight's design for him, just made it a bit less...fucking ridiculous.

Ahem. I'll shut up about TDK already. *thumbs up* Lookin' good, Arkham City.
