Mega Man X Questions

Does anyone know how Mega Man Maverick Hunter X compares to the original Mega Man X? According to wikipedia Maverick is an "enhanced remake." Should this be cause for concern or is Maverick just as good as the original?

It's pretty much the original Megaman X, but with 3d graphics. Still a sidescroller, though.

Also, it's for PSP whereas any shmoe with a computer can find the SNES version online.
