MegaMan X Street Fighter: Tentative

I've been looking at that statement for almost a day, and still haven't gained a satisfactory answer as to how I feel about this. Megaman is one my favorite franchises, and seeing it's being developed by a fan, and using an 8 bit style no less, I should be all over it. Street Fighter is also a pretty classic series, and they'll be adapting the characters to the same format.

But I'm still tentative. Megaman, for me at least, hasn't produced anything really good since the DS game, MegaMan ZX Advent. I hope the fact a fan's developing it will help, but only time will tell.

How are you feeling on this, and why?

I'm not all that sure about it. The only thing that seems that interesting about it is the replacement of the Robot Master bosses with Street Fighter characters, which I'm sure will make for some great boss fights and powers. But, in the trailer for it I saw here the levels claim to be 'inspired by Street Fighter' as well, but to me they just kind of looked like standard levels.

I mean, I'm sure it'll be good fun to play, and you can't argue with the price. I'll be playing it for sure, but no, I'm not exactly excited about it.

You really cannot argue with the low, low price of Free.

Plus it hasnt been said outright, but Capcom might be persuaded to consider a new Megaman game, or ressurecting one of the canned ones, if it gets enough downloads.

One could say that one of the reasons why the last 2 Megaman games in development were cancelled because Capcom was unsure of the brands strength today. If you went out of your way to download it, Capcom-Unity can put together a case to convince Capcom Japan otherwise.

End result being more Megaman.

It's free so even if it is shit nothing is lost. I think it'll be pretty decent actually at least the boss battles should be good.
