Messed up video games

so if you couldn't tell from my user name, I'm a fan of monster rancher. I've owned most of the games and there was always one thing I found odd about them, the Pixie Breed. for those of you not familiar with Monster Rancher, the Pixie is the only monster that looks vaguely human actually taking the form of an imp like women. The weird thing is that everbody seems to ignore the fact that she looks extremely human amongst the rest of the monsters. Some of the early games even reffered to the Pixie breeds as he when they are all clearly female. In the one monster rancher game where you can see your character they are about the same size as a human to. So I always thought it was fucked up that you're sending this clearly humanoid thing to fight giant rock monsters and dinosuars

So what messed up things do you recall from video games that weren't really given attention?

Crusader Kings (feudal Europe game by paradox) passively encourages you to assassinate babies. They are easier to kill than adults and opens the way for your children to inherit lands if they're further down the line of succession.

and those are the most common enemy in the game.

Pokemon are CLEARLY shown to die at the hands of humans and each other in Red & Blue, but from GSC onwards, this is totally forgotten!

And while we're on the subject of Pokemon, what did they eat in the wild?
Do they eat each other? Do they eat non-pokemon animals? Do non-pokemon animals even exist in their universe?

If there are Pokemon that are CLEARLY both smarter and more powerful than humans, ( Allakazam, Gyarados, various legendaries) why do they stick around after they have been caught? Can't be for loyalty.

And no one seems to think that enslaving creatures and forcing them to fight each other to no end is wrong! Quite the contrary, it's viewed as a noble and fantastic pastime!

I remember seeing real fish in an episode of pokemon.

OT: In the Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon games you can turn pokemon into items and vice versa, kinda messed up.

Don't know about the games but in the anime whenever the party stopped at a hotel they would order human food for the pokemon. Pikachu liked sushi a lot too.

OT: I can't think of any messed up video games :/ some resident evils obviously but nothing too much O! The black and white games where you enslave a giant animal to attack or defend humans...

Well, Dante's Inferno is pretty fucked up, what with the demon babies and all....And Black Ops has some pretty fucked up gore at times, with the up-close executions, and the way some main characters die....

Then there's Fable II, for allowing me to knock over countless doors(by headbutting them) and shooting entire families in the face right in the middle of dinner. Not kids, of COURSE.

Then there were those nifty exploding head collars in Fallout 3. Plus the time I gunned down a harmless, starving old man from the other side of a prison cell. (Guess which side I was on)

I could go on....So I will.

Half Life, because head crabs are terrifying. To a lesser degree, barnacles.

Mass Effect 2, Overlord DLC: I won't spoil it, but it is really fucked up.

Bioshock: Because of Sander Cohen's fucking ballerina-ice-ninja-monsters. Fuck those things. Also, you'll either get this or you won't: "I want to take the ears off." That scared the shit out of me.

Resistance: Because your enemies were made out of the liquefied and re-purposed remains of your friends.


I could do this all damn day.

resident evil 4 and 5 because all the zombies seem black (mosly in resident evil 5 when you get to the marshlands and all the tribal zombies are black i mean seriusly) also is it just me or is it only resident evil 5 that has a sort of black main chariter (thats not including josh because he is a secondary chariter)

I know, I have always said that the whole pokemon universe pretty much revolves around legalized animal fights.

The whole trading thing is pretty much slave trade, seeing as most pokemon are captured against their will and as you have stated a lot of them have a level of intelligence on par if not higher than humans.

No one's mentioned Katamari Damacy yet? Really? You can roll people, animals, and entire fucking landmasses into giant balls that you then use as fuel to form fucking STARS. You burn people to make STARS. And don't even get me started on all of the obvious drug references in the game.

mostly in south africa but the majority of the population is black, there is no way around it if i look up the population of boise idaho the population is 96% white people so if you come here and see a non white person you gonna be surprised likewise if you went to africa its not racist its just a fact if i go to a random city in africa odds are everyone is going to be black

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines had a section involving an underground snuff porn film industry which you had to infiltrate. I didn't even know such a thing existed till playing that game!

Hell that game is full of all sorts of messed up shit. I'm honestly amazed it's only rated M and not AO considering some of the stuff that happens. The 'Meat House' is especially creepy and disturbing as well... and then there was Gimble... so messed up!
