Speaking as a hip hop fan, my guilty pleasure is Macklemore and lil b.... lmao. Cant help it, as corny as they are, something about them just hypes me up.

What about you guys? Im especially curious to what metalhead's guilty pleasures are. You gals/ guys seem hardcore, so revealing your weakspot should be interesting ;)

I don't believe in guilty pleasures. I find the entire concept stupid. You shouldn't feel ashamed of the things you like. Fuck what other people think.

I also don't believe in guilty pleasures. I listen to whatever appeals to me and that's it.

However, as for what you're looking for with this thread: My favourite genre is death metal, yet I also enjoy 90's gangsta rap. I'm not ashamed by it or anything, but I assume that's what you want to see in this thread?

Again, why is it guilty? If you like something, you like it! I don't have guilty pleasure. I have pleasure. And Hedonist Bot apologizes for nothing!

I listen to metal a lot (amongst other things), primarily death and thrash metal. But I really like My Love by Justin Timberlake. Like a lot, I really love the groove of the song, so I guess that would be my guilty pleasure.

Though I'm not ashamed of it or else I wouldn't be posting about it. I also like Macklemore, Run-DMC, A Tribe called Quest and a few other rap artists. But I also don't consider those guilty pleasure. So, though I don't think in terms like guilty pleasure, I listen to things that seem out of character.

Ah... I really hate it when people get all uppity about the phrase 'guilty pleasure'.

Personally, as someone that listens to mainly metal, rock and hardcore, I like Katy Perry a weird amount. It's just insanely catchy, at least she's not trying to be anything other than stupid bubblegum-pop. It's refreshing compared to how pretentious (yet still terrible) chart music is getting, going on about how 'this is our time!' and crap love songs with hilariously out of place rap sections.

I listen almost entirely to metal... but one of the few exceptions to this rule would be Daft Punk.

I wouldn't exactly call them a guilty pleasure though, because they're actually good.

I'm a metalhead, but I adore P!nk and am unashamed of this fact.

I also legitimately like Gangnam Style as a song and listen to it often.

[sub][sub]Also yeah, what's with everyone getting uppity about the term "guilty pleasure"? I'm pretty sure most people use it in a tongue in cheek way. I do, anyway[/sub][/sub]

As people might have been able to tell by paying attention to my avatars over the past few months, I quite enjoy J-Pop artist Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

What they wouldn't be able to tell is that I usually listen to stuff like this:

But, hell, I've got everything from Three Days Grace to Hollywood Undead and Eminem to Aqua on my music lists.

Lately I practically haven't been listening to anything except DOLL$BOXX and Gacharic Spin.

They're too catchy for me.

As a metalhead I guess my guilty pleasure would be Simply Red, specifically the album Stars. It's a soul/funk album from the early 90's that I grew up with and while a lot of the reason is nostalgia it's a damn fucking good album.
Generally I can appriciate anything made with effort and real instruments though.

I am as much as metalhead as everyone else and I have Amaranthe, Paramore, Soilwork, Haddaway, and Dean Martin on my playlist. So yeh, nothing is a guilty pleasure for me.

I mostly listen to metal. And yet I still am in awe of the sheer awesomeness of this song.

It's just too damn good.

I challenge you to listen to this without at least tapping your feet or nodding your head

Anyone who tries to discredit george micheal (musically) he has performed with freddy mercury on several ocassions

My favorite artist is Eminem. So much so, that I enjoy Encore and Relapse. 2 of his worst records that, if not release with Em's pedigree, would be labeled as either garbage or average.

And then of course, you have your Gangnam Styles, your Call me maybes and your What Does The Fox Says (The last of which is suppose to be a comedy song anyway. Everyone seems to have forgotten that). But I'm not guilty about those, because they're fun.

Also, I don't get why so many people see Macklmore as a guilty pleasure. Sure, he can be "corny", but I don't get why that's always considered a bad thing in Hip Hop music.

Metalhead here.

My guilty pleasure would have to be Hollywood Undead and Deuce. (their former lead singer.) They are just catchy as hell and I love their three or so serious songs like, Paradise Lost, City, and Sell Your Soul.

I'm not really attached to a particular genre (my top albums of 2013 list includes both No Elephants by Lisa Germano and Surgical Steel by Carcass) but most people tend to be surprised when they find out how much I like Deaf Havana and Funeral For A Friend. Old Souls by Deaf Havana was also one of the best albums of last year.

I don't have a genre of music that I prefer... but I am quite into Rock, Chillout and Dance. Things I don't tend to admit to liking though are The Vengaboys and Happy Hardcore (Particularily the older Bonkers era!)

Well, as many before me I don't believe in guilty pleasures. But if you mean something I like even though it's way out of my preferred genre or a song that generally seems to be disliked by the public:

-Party Rock anthem. It's ridiculous and sounds like it was made using big company's formula to determine what will make the top lists. But I still like it because whenever I listen to it it cheers me up.

-Terrible and cheesy 90's music like Venga Boys and Toy Box. What can I say? I grew up with that music. (yes yes, this is late 90's. I just can't be assed right now to try to remember earlier 90's bands/songs I like.)

Why would anyone? Disney musical numbers are like a hamburger from Louis' Lunch (the Library of Congress-credited inventor of the hamburger). Really f*** good.

As for me, I think the genres I normally listen to (gothic/symphonic metal) are the ones I try to hide from people. (nobody really shares my tastes. High school, ya know?)

I listen to other things more openly, though it's surprising how many people have written off Gangnam Style as a fad; I may not understand the lyrics (being as I don't speak korean) but I still really enjoy the song as a song. The perfectly silly music video is certainly a perk though.

I tend to just listen to whatever happens to catch my fancy at a given time. Got some metal, got the star wars soundtrack, got a bunch of remixes from OCremix (go check it out, lots of good stuff), I even have the oh-so-famous songs by Haddaway and Aqua (and Rick Astley) in my music library. There's even the odd song from artists I generally dislike that I can enjoy, like Bad Romance or The Best of Times (by Sage Francis).
