Is anyone else planning on getting it? I saw the trailer, which was perfect and some gameplay from E3. Still getting through 2033, but so far Last Light is a lock for me. Atmosphere is crazy

Hells yeah I am! Can't wait for Last Light as Metro:2033 jumped into my top games list before I even finished it the first time.

On a side note I almost didn't reply to this. I came in saw a poster with no avatar and exactly 1 post and my brain just assumed it was spam, sad state of affairs :(

Welcome though :)

Yeah, I'll probably pick it up eventually.

The first game certainly had its moments, but not enough to justify a day-one purchase of the sequel.

I didn't like the first one at all. It wasn't scary, it wasn't intense (to me). Story wasn't all that interesting. It had some interesting gameplay ideas though, like the gas mask, bullets instead of money etc. but overall it was a shit game IMO. So no, I'm not excited for this one.

What'd you think of the morality system?

Very excited for Last Light, as I quite enjoyed 2033.

Something to hold me over until Fallout 4 comes out. :<

I never tried 2033 but it interested me. And for some reason I got really into the trailers for Last Light. I'm very interested in getting it, not on release but I hope to.

I certainly will pick up in the future. I just finished 2033 last week, and it was quite an enjoyable adventure. It's a great example of games successfully telling a story and atmosphere in a way that on the surface may have damaged the gameplay, but was still done in a way that enhanced the feel of the world.

That came out a little cryptic. I mean things like the Bastard Gun being shit, and since the gunplay sucked with it, it enhanced the feel of the game's world and the helplessness of being in the tunnels. It's not something that is conveyed well in a lot of games. Most devs would just look at the Bastard Gun and say "that's not fun, give the player an AK to start with" and call it a day.

That seems like what most FPS games already try to do, they just do it poorly.

Really liked the original and will definitely grab Last Light at some point.

When I played the game I was really impressed with it . I was planing to get the book , but I didnt see how it could be better than the game .I was wrong .
The game is great , the book is a masterpiece .
Sadly metro 2034 was more of a love story , still interesting but not half as good as 2033 .

These are a few of my favorite things...

Just fix the stealth mechanics... actually, fix all the mechanics. The game was kinda 'not polished'.
Ah yes "stealth"

Or, scratch your bum and everyone in the station is alerted to your presence.

On topic. Watching the E3 gameplay, you know who i saw. Saw that one guy who pretty much psyched me up for it

Pavel is alive.

Well i hope its the same Pavel....

I have to agree with you here.

Metro: 2033 was one of the most thought-provoking experiences I've had in gaming, and most certainly in FPS form.

Metro: Last Light is my most anticipated game, alongside Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. I really hope the devs retain those core elements and push the story-telling, whilst cleaning up the jankiness of the previous game so that it plays great.
