Odd thought- We all rip on michael bay for this completley idotic crap. i know people always suggest that the reviewers are snobby, but i knew when i saw it the dialogue was shite, the action expensive but choreographed like so much shit in a tornado.

But it made a profit , dident it?

I'm just wondering are we judging him to the wrong standard? I mean, his movies remind me of propaganda in their mindless pandering. It has appeal to ALOT of people, it attracts far more than it disgusts. can we argue that it was brilliant in that respect? like, as in, was that the point of transformers? movie bob said we shouldn't judge it from the potential of an extended toy commercial because it's a million dollar movie and so on, but what if that was the point?

Just a thought

If I accept this I'll have to accept that Dan Brown is a good author.
To me, the truly great and the average/fairly good are separated by the depth or meaning, both in books and movies (and art if I ever get into it) so I don't like this sort of thing.

I actually agree with you.
Michael Bay is known for making dumb action flicks.
So if you want an action flick, go ahead and watch his movies.
Judge them on their own merits of being a mindless spectacle, nothing more, nothing less.
Don't try to pass them off as art, though, which they aren't.
The nationalism turns me off, though.
