Just another developer on its deathbed.

It's a handful of developers near bankruptcy and there are dozens of others losing hundreds of millions. It's safe to say if this carries on their all going to be dead within a few months or years.

It's not surprising though Midway is putting out games for the losers of this console generation and spending tens of millions on graphics.

If they made games for the winner of this generation they would have a much smaller graphics budget meaning games would cost less and they could put a lot more money towards other aspects of the game.

This is well deserved for these developers with no competence.

Well I don't think it's fair to say that any one is deserved of being laid off, that's just mean, and mean is not nice.

Well seriously..Mortal Kombat only goes so far. Even the new ones feel dated. ANd how many times can you honestly play those games..especially since they just get worse and worse. Mk worked cause it was a bad cheesey over the top game. Now they're just bad. Take care midway. Shame all those quarters i dropped back in 1992 couldn't save ya. Ugh Mk came out in 1992. Who else just felt really REALLY old.

True it is sad but when your primary platforms are the worse selling platforms on the market and the budget for making games for those failing platforms is several times higher than the winning platforms what do you think the end result is going to be?

Honestly this was seen coming from a mile away.

Well true, I heard the death-knell for Midway about four months ago, but these people have my sympathy, not my spite.

Mortal Kombat isnt the problem really since they reuse characters etc they can make the game for very little money and they sell a lot of copies.

Their only in this position for backing the wrong horse.

When you can make games for a quarter as much for a platform with twice the userbase you'd think it would be common sense.

See the thing is everybody is losing money every developer and Sony and Microsoft as well and only one competent intelligent company has the right business model and is making money.

Their digging their own graves when what works is right in front of their face.
