I know MineCraft is pretty popular around here, so I was wondering what you spend your time doing ingame? Do you just sit around making maps? Do you farm? What do you do???
I got the game today and am trying to figure out what this game let's you do!

I make sky houses.
Seriously, like, It's all I do.
Though, I'm progressing onto sky castles, and then maybe even sky villages.

The game lets you do a lot and a little at the same time. Building is limited only by your imagination and relative lack of content.

I usually mine a small staircase downwards as far as it will go, looking for naturally occurring underground caverns and passages.

I then proceed to take whatever I can find in the cavern surfaces.

I've never really gotten much further than that, because I usually fall into a lava floe; tools, valuables, and all; and restart the save slot in a "6 HOURS OF WORK GONE!" rage.

I make elaborate underground dwarf-fortress style things. Then get bored and blow them up.

I'm also working on making a house out of gold blocks. Why? Because I'm awesome.

Eh, instead of posting pictures or trying to explain, I'll just link an album [http://s809.photobucket.com/albums/zz12/Astrudos/Game%20Screenshots/] (There are some pictures from a different game, however >.>)
I just make whatever I feel like making, and then delete the worlds.
I'd like to play it like the guys from this:
But that requires at least one other person, who is a newbie, a nice private server with a good connection, and plenty of time >.>

What time i dont spend on resource gathering, is usually spent trying to make fictitious structures that i've read about or seen in other games. Or sometimes i just build a hovering tower over some water if i'm spectacularly lacking in creativity.

I just started a new game yesterday in which I'm experimenting with an all underground all the time style of play. Once I've got my underground forest set up to provide me with wood and farm animals I'll never have to look at the sun again!

I also like to just build little boats and sail out into the world, getting intentionally lost and establishing little colony outposts that I know I'll probably never find again if I die and end up back at my spawn point.

I like to find huge mountains, blow up the base with dynamite, and turn the resulting floating landmass into my fortress.

Whatever you want, pretty much.

In my first world I spent a lot of time making an underground cavern, and in my latest I've been doing a lot of landscaping.

To get yourself going, I suggest you build a room with a workbench and stove in, seal it off with a door, and then find a cave entrance during the day to just start digging.

After a while you should just get some ideas of what you want to do.

I start off by making a small modest house which then gets expanded multiple floors. Then, if I can't find any caves around said house, I start mining through the floor and make a massive tunnel system with minecart tracks and the like.

I mine mine mine, of course. The other things that I have done are make a great hall(deep underground, like dwarfs) with a throne made of gold bricks, two fountains, tables, pillars, and a side room with a cotton bed. Things more recent, still constructing a castle out in the water with a bridge going to it, put a lava moat around my main house(it's wood, but before I put the moat I gave it a cobble stone shell), I made a greenhouse with a redbrick foundation, a tall signal tower so I can keep my bearings so I don't get lost(in case I forget my compass for some reason), and a portal to the Nether with cobble stone stairs leading to it(to make it look like a Stargate).

The other day I found a dungeon without having to dig. I was headed back home from a long expedition in the desert, when I spotted a cave opening I hadn't seen before. I dropped down maybe five blocks, walked straight, and there it was out in the open with nothing concealing it. I found a whole bread store in it(6 loaves), wheat, some gun powder, and string(which I used to make a fishing rod and caught 3 fish).

I'm currently building a wall to turn my castle into a fortress. Said wall is going to be made of more than 50 kilotons of stone and have an obsidian gatehouse.
I'm also building an underground auditorium, so I can use what I mine out of that to make the wall. Efficiency is a very good idea with big projects, and I'm getting two for the price of one : )

Oh, and when I've done that I'll be turning the valley my castle is in into a hill. How I wish I had dynamite.

actually if you find some cool mods and or maps that you can download that feature dungeons that you get to explore and fight enemies and at the end there are chests with valuables.

I'm building an interconnected series of fortresses and slowly expanding my influence towards the lands of the southern barbarians.

I only bought it last week, and I was in the process of making a huge ass mine. The server has been down for a while though so I can't continue. It was pretty big at the time, I was building a staircase to the surface just to see where I'd end up. When the server comes back up though me, my brother and 2 friends are gonna build a city like Sootopolis City from Pokemon, and try and make it a civilian town on the server.

In general, I'd say I make caves, caves are dope.

Huge underground mines for the most part. It also helps build up a lot of material for when I feel like building above ground. I do put it on peaceful mode for that; lava is risky enough as it is.

Would you happen to know of any good multiplayer servers for just vanilla survival?
