Hello people.

Minecraft is out.. .but what are your thoughts on this

i wonder if Notch and co are really going to continue updating like they said they would. They had priomised two major updates before release, I recall, since 1.8 but all we got was 1.9 pre-release.

I'm updated, anyone got patch notes? Like to work out exactly what I'm going to do first.

edit: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history
That's been updated now for anyone interested.

I just started a new world to take a look. The screen looks weird without the beta version number in the top left.

Also, yay I started in a snow biome. It's been ages since I had one of those.

I got really excited, I downloaded Minecraft 1.0, I got it running... then I realized all my favorite multiplayer servers are not up and running MC1.0 yet...

Bummer...

Can anyone tell me what this red stuff dropping from the roof is? Wasn't there before, is it fire related?
Edit: Oh it's because of my lava moat above. Awesome.

Must be a great feeling for Notch to finally have a finished release version of Minecraft. Of course it won't be finished yet, since their going to add more stuff to it.

It's sort of symbolic. Those who bought the game early on were promised that the game would some day be completed, and now Notch can officially say he fulfilled his promise.

I don't know how new it is but I just discovered something. You can eat the rotten flesh that drops from dead zombies.

...What?

Look, I'm in the middle of a blizzard, with not a single pig, cow or chicken to be seen (the sheep are inexplicably inedible) so I think I'm justified in eating the flesh of corpses...

Minecraft: it's like the Donner Party, in block form.

Its underwhelming. The villages are incomplete still, The End is pointless and adds nothing... would much rather have had the skylands - but at least this way there is no conflict with the Aether, which is probably going to be superior no matter what. This however does not excuse the fact that the Enderlands add absolutely nothing to the game. FFS.

Not really any new blocks either, I don't give a crap about enderdragons. An new redstone block of some sort? now were talking.

Disappointing

EDIT: oh and I forgot too mention the world type feature never went anywhere. So now I can't have a snowy world or a desert world. Nope.

And mods and texture-packs are still not well supported.

Don't forget to eat during these next few days.

OT: Hmmm. I primarily play it on my Mac due to it being more stable there for some reason. I suppose it will have a big old update waiting for me. Text here because I hate having a little bit of text over the next line.

Eew. What persuaded you to buy a Mac? Is there some hipster douche side of you that you're hiding from us?

OT: I'm not gonna be playing Minecraft for the next few days. I'll be watching paulsoaresjr's updates from Minecon.

I'm still in Beta Pre-Release 1.9.4 but I have played 1.9.6 and the RC2 as well. I think it is pretty good but there is still some work that should have been done before the official release. I know he said the PC versions will still continue to update and such so I guess only time will tell.

Please, it was a gift from my parents for University. Video editing on it and Minecraft are literally all I use it for.
