Twilight [2008] /review

Wooden performances, laughable dialogue, your generic girl loves boy story and the most random baseball game you'll ever witness. What is the movie in question? That would be Twilight. The "villains" were introduced and presented terribly. It was hard to take serious and it just never peaks. Painful to watch and with the lame conflicts, its just "omg how good looking is Edward?"

Not explaining the plot usually ends up in disaster and this is no exception. This one crucial problem affects the movie like a domino effect. Civilization is meant to be ending yet you can't really get drawn in as you still don't know why its happening. When the world is potentially becoming an apocalyptic wasteland and you find yourself not caring, you know something has gone wrong. Due to the previous reasons, nothing can really shine, so don't go holding your breath for a wow moment as it just won't happen.

Multiple viewings can be essential for some movies and when I viewed Ratatouille for a second time, my opinion had changed quite a lot. Good, was my initial reaction and I never thought much more of it. Second time around however, everything just seemed so much more impressive. The scenes as well as animation were beautiful, it was well written and all in all it was just a joy to watch. If only more animated flicks could follow Pixar's lead and make their movies enjoyable for all ages and not just have them embedded with the cult joke of the week.
Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and the Love the Bomb [1964] /review

A movie that can make fun of nuclear warfare during the height of nuclear paranoia while being deliciously amusing certainly fills out the checklist of being a black comedy. Stanley Kubrick has not only made a movie that was great for its time but also is still funny, smart and memorable by today's standards. The classic scenes, one-liners and performances from both Sellers and Scott launch this bizarre one of a kind movie into masterpiece status.

Tries to be a clone of the much better film "Love Actually". Aspects that this wannabe poser lacked in its cloning were the likable characters, humor, a good script, great music and a lovable vibe. It can be assumed that during the cloning process they just thought "Well 10% is a good enough effort, right?" One redeemable part about it is the solid performance from Scarlett Johansson which could never save this foreseeable attempt at a romance movie.

One of the best things that I have ever witnessed. The songs, humor and Neil Patrick Harris are in a league of their own. Just something simple that is very funny and highly entertaining. It achieved all this in 43 minutes. It's hard to add anymore more to this as the one word to describe this viewing pleasure is "genius".
That is all I have so far. I've also started doing the reviews with voice on Youtube and the originals are on my blog but I'm not sure if you can advertise here so I'll leave it at that for now.
