I get notifications from Twitch whenever The Escapist goes live with a livestream. So today I see:
escapistmagazine just went live 'Mining with The Escapist' on Twitch
The title was slightly vague, but I think: it could just be Minecraft, but Terraria just came out with a major PC update yesterday, so let's check it out!
I click the link and let the page load... Minecraft.
Full disclosure: I'm not a Minecraft fan. With the exception of some mods and some amazing projects (like the 1:1 Voyager model), I've never liked its art style. It's just not my taste.
On the other hand, I love Terraria. I've spent countless hours playing it, mining, crafting, building fortresses, etc. But even though it's sold 3M copies, that's only a quarter of copies that Minecraft has sold.
So, Terraria gets far less attention and coverage, even the day after a major update that doubled the amount of items in the game, revamped the player experience from start to end game, overhauled a lot of art, added new bosses and mobs, etc.
Sorry Escapist, I'm just not feelin' ya on Twitch.
