Do you think this will be a good game?

More improtantly, do you think it'll revolutionize gamimg because it's outset seems extremely non-linear?

Discuss.

Whether or not it will be a good game depends entirely on how well the developers manage to pull off their concept. The game definitely has the potential to be great. I love how you are simply running away from and trying to avoid your enemies, rather than being some sort of demi-god who solves his problems by leaving the scattered remains of his foes in his wake.

It is fairly linear though, since you basically follow the red brick road from point A to point B. Not much revolution going on there.

The previews I've read and screenshots of level layouts shown so far suggest it's linear. That will be necessary in my opinion if the game is to have the think-on-the-spot chase gameplay I assume they're going for.

As to personal hype factor, it's the game that I'm most excited about this year. New IP with an original gameplay concept. The sad thing is, even if the gameplay is stellar it'll probably fail to sell bucket-loads. So long as it's a good game however, I'll be buying.

Well, yeah, I know the linear gameplay part. But it has several options. Go left or right? over or around? And that could make all playthroughts different.

They also need to remember to lay off the guns.
Since it's a first person game, it would be tempting to add some shooting in there, just to draw in the shooter crowd, but it could totally ruin the game.
Imagine, you'll be playing and enjoying it for the first half, but in the second, they throw a bunch of guns your way and force you to use them.

Entirely possible, seeing as this is EA.

It's probably the best idea for a game I've ever encountered. Stuff like this is great.

I wouldn't expect the playthroughs to be too different, but I do like how they didn't make the game strictly linear, and the on-the-fly decisions you have to make should prove interesting.

Crysis. It's fairly linear, but you choose your angle of attack. That's just an example.

For some reason, I was watching the trailer and thought "Didn't I already see a lot of this in 'The Matrix'?" Of course, this had a lot less trenchcoats.

Not enough info is given about the game, remember assassins creed early videos showed it as a free form world ware you track down and kill the target, and what we got was uhh prince of persia with more space to run around in without the traps

I would love it if it comes out what it says it will. But im a strange sort that like first person platforming as long as the controls are tight like HL2 and not that walking on ice effect of HL1

Assassins Creed did have a free roaming world. The early previews also made it out to be Prince of Persia with more space to run around in without the traps.

This does look interesting and the graphics are stunning but I'm sure if it has none of my interest.

It has the potential to be a really interesting and innovative game. Of course, it also has the potential to suck, but we'll see how it turns out.

I really hope it focuses primarily on the running away from secret thought police. I don't think the gun(s) is/are really necessary. I'm all for a stun gun, but if it degenerates into one long rooftop gunfight I will not be pleased.

I love to design, the city looks awesome (the main character not so much). But the story sounds like it will be another mindless "fight teh govormentz" tale and the movement itself will probably end up being Assassins Creed in first person.

What's wrong with that?
