So, now that Misfits series 3 is over and series 4 is in the production process, what do people wanna see in series 4?

I hate the current powers of the gang and wanna see them take on something new.

As for our American friends...I dunno if you've even had this programme aired over there. If so, I'd like to see where you are and what you wanna see in the following series or if you have a remake or the original english version?

Holy crap the last episode was amazing. Simultaneously heartwarming and depressing, romantic and pathetic at the same time.

For season 4 probably bring Nathan back, it would be fun to see him and Rudy interact, they're very similar yet fundamentally different where it counts. Maybe some new people. Seth facilitate some awesome new powers for the gang. I like Rudy's, but Curtis and Kelly could do with some new ones.

Yeh, I didn't really think much of the new powers either, the original ones were so much better. It's a shame as well, because the end of series 2 left so many possibilities availible for new powers, and it seemed a bit wasted. That being said, I loved series 3! I was a bit dubious about Rudy at firsy, because I thought they'd never be able to replace Nathan, but Rudy was actually hilarious.

I don't really know where they'll be able to go with series 4, given that they've gotten rid of two of the main characters and didn't finish the series on an obvious hook. That doesn't mean that I'm any less impatient waiting for it to be broadcast though!

Also, this is a brilliant idea. I would love to see the two of them interacting, they're absolutely hilarious by themselves, the two of them together would be amazing (I'd hope).

i would love that too, but i doubt Nathan will be back in the future... present? the actor left the show and the character is in jail in Nevada.
also, one thing i'm not sure about (they werent exactly clear about it) did Simon sell all his other powers (see the future, time travel) when he got the new ones (time travel and resistance to powers respectively)?
because i'm seriously curious about whether or not he has more than one power.

Probably Jesus from the Christmas special had multiple powers.

I think there's a strict one-power limit for now so he'll have sold his clairvoyance to get time travel, then sold that to become resistant to powers.

Surely Simon is out of the show now though?

Ugh. I'm an idiot - why did I click this thread when I didn't watch the show yet?

I hope Simon isn't gone for good, he was probably the character with the most potential. Also, there doesn't seem to be a limit on how many powers you can have; look at Jesus from the Christmas special last year.

OT: I want more humour in the show. The first series was much funnier, but now it just seems to be Rudy as the comedy character and everyone else is dramatic all the time. Bring back the early series' humour!

i doubt they'll get rid of Simon. they'll find a way to have him do some Superhoodie stuff or something.

All problems for people who can't manipulate reality.

I don't know they seem to have it quite tightly wrapped up. He was a great character and my favourite but I think anymore stuff with him would be forcing it.

Which never made sense to me, for two reasons.

Firstly, what evidence do they have to incarcerate him? A single dodgy die, which he can presumably erase from existence at will (being a reality warper who admittedly has so far only used his powers in trivial ways but, if used properly, would be a god-like being) and some eyewitness testimony. Doesn't sound like a rock-solid case for "lock him up and throw away the key".

Secondly, he's a fucking reality warper! How is a jail going to hold him if he decides he'd prefer his cell wall to be made of rice paper or that the guards would look better as blobs of green jelly? We've seen him pull objects from non-existence, teleport others, alter the physical properties of yet others. The fact that he's a pillock isn't going to stop him from realising the potential of this eventually, and then there's no jail in the world that can hold him.

That said, I'm not sure I want him back. They'd clearly run out of ideas for him - hence the really rushed "I met a pregnant girl, now I'm in love and want to raise her baby despite previously having stated I hate babies!" angle - so I don't see how bringing him back to the show would change anything.

i think that was just because the actor decided to leave the show (he did get a part in a movie around that time). they wanted a legit reason for him to not be there any more. the Vegas special was really just closure.

One thing that bugged me about this series is that Curtis knew Kelly had is time travel power, but didn't use it to save his girlfriend from the last series like he wanted to. But I'd like to see better powers and for Nathan to come back. I miss the moments Nathan and Barry had :)

You mean the girlfriend he seemingly forgot about literally ten minutes later? By the end of the episode he doesn't even seem to remember he had a girlfriend, let alone that she was just murdered!

What was even more galling was when, a few months (or maybe just weeks) later when that runner girl comes to chat him up in the bar. It doesn't seem to occur to him that his last girlfriend was recently murdered right in the very spot he's standing in to flirt with some new girl!

What a dick.

I thought he didn't announce he was leaving until after season 2 ended, hence the Vegas episode?

The Vegas stuff is, I agree, a legit reason for him not to be around but his girlfriend having a baby isn't. Especially as they asked the rest of the cast to be godparents! It seems like they were trying to tie the characters together so they'd have a reason to hang out after community service was finished. Very out-of-character for Nathan.

Also, I wouldn't call the Vegas special closure, since it pretty much ended on a cliffhanger that was never resolved :p

I liked this season a lot, I kind of don't mind that their powers were crappy. I think that because of their powers being crappy they didn't use them a lot and it ended up with the story being more character driven instead of being just a silly power fest like Heroes was.
One nitpicking problem about the show for me though, is the justification of powers. Like in what circumstance would anyone get the power to be immune to other powers? I liked the premise of the show that powers in general were supposed to be somewhat useful but had some twisted catch based on the personality of the characters.

That said, I'm a bit sad that another of the original cast is gone, and possibly 2.

Maybe always scared of what others would/could do to them and just wanted to be safe from the world.

It's been a while since I saw it but did he ever have more than one power simultaneously? I know he had Alisha's power, the ability to walk on water, and some other stuff all at various points, but did he have them all at once? :|
Besides, the continuity on Misfits is all out of whack, they keep putting the flashback to Alisha telling Simon in the alternative milk-serial-killer timeline...

I don't think there's such a clear-cut cause/effect relationship for everyone. Powers may be linked to desire, but they often manifest in strange ways. Look at Mr Big Cheese from season 2; he clearly wanted to impress that hot girl he worked with, and he spent a lot of time near milk, but what logical leap is there from that to "complete mastery of dairy products"? Sure, he got what he wanted, but not in a particularly straightforward way and his desire was manifested through a daily activity.

That said, the show itself (Nathan, I believe) has even made the point that none of it is very logical :p

Yup. The impression I got was that he was collecting. For instance, he kept raising money to take bigger and bigger piles of cash to Seth. If he was changing powers every time, he should at least be getting part-trade and wouldn't need so much dosh.

That aside, in the few minutes before his death he's using his rapey powers (at least, it's implied by the fact she doesn't stop or even notice the cast watching her) on the girl sucking him off in the locker room, then a few seconds later he teleports into a different room, and about a minute after that he runs back after the main characters and uses his telekinesis to pull the locker which eventually snaps into his face and kills him. Doesn't seem like he'd have time to visit Seth and get back so quickly, not to mention that he used the telekinesis to take the muggers gun earlier in the episode.

Not disputing that part, there've been a few continuity errors that seem to have been made just to make things run smoother :p
