I was playing The Third Lord of the rings game with my cousin and we were just starting the level in front of the Black Gate, when Aragorn yelled that we had to "distract Sauron's gaze".

To which my cousin replied, it sounded like he said gaze. I said he did. A cookie to anyone who figures out why that and the accompanying images and thoughts almost had me dying of laughter.

My favourite mondegreen was a son called "I can help" by Billy Swan that I heard around the age of 7 and I could swear the song said "blooming hell"

Listen to it and what you think [http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-yf1iW3bFEM]

Although I still love Destiny's Child's "Alf Garnet" : http://www.rathergood.com/alf

Ricky martin: She bangs...
Now in England, that had a completely different meaning. Bang = Has intercourse loudly.

I read in an interview with Lemmy, that for a couple of years at every live gig, he sung "The Eight of Spades..."

Nobody noticed.

Also, this isn't a misheard lyric as such, but during the late 80's, my Dad (God rest his soul) attempting to be cool, used to say to me and my brother, "Yo Judes!".

He must have been confusing 'dude' with the Beatle's song Hey Jude, but it was too funny to correct.

It's been a private joke between me and my brother to this day.

A popular one- more a case of bad echo than misinterpretation.

The queen song "One Vision"- "Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme fried chicken, chicken, vision, vision"

I'm forever making/hearing double entendres, all I have to do now is bite my bottom lip, raise an eyebrow and suddenly the person is frantically scanning what they just said for their slip-up. Especially funny when they haven't :)
