Are there any MMOFPSRPG'S (Cod meets WoW) out there?

I would love to see a game like Far Cry 3 made into an MMO, i mean you just need to make the area bigger and put in quests etc, I think something like that would work and would provide a break from all the Fantasy/sci-fi MMORPG'S that are out now.

The closest I can think of is Firefall, which is still in beta but you can buy access if you can't find a key.

If you want the focus to be more on the shooting, then maybe Planetside 2, which is a f2p game that just came out.

I've got a copy for Neocron on my shelf for quite some time now. Never played it, but it's an MMORPG with FPS elements. It's somewhat dated by now and I've no idea whether the shooty bits are any fun, but perhaps it's worth a shot.

BUY access?

As in, pay for a fething beta?

As in, fork over money to test a game that's still in development and still has a long way to go before it's actually worth paying for?

Plenty of games have done that: Minecraft, Guild Wars 2, I think Tribes: Ascend had the cash shop open still in beta, lots of Kickstarters give beta access for donations.

The beta keys aren't hard to get hold of either. Check out the off-topic section on the official forums and you'll regularly see people giving them away. I gave it a go during one of the open weekends and got a full key the day after it finished.

Brief summary so far: gameplay is good, lots of movement in the combat. Weapons are a bit disappointing but some of the abilities are pretty neat. Crafting is interesting. Massively lacking in content PvE wise at the moment, though there's supposed to be a big update coming soon(tm). There's some interesting mechanics there as well like player spawned dynamic events; only the Thumpers so far (which are for gathering crafting resources), but the system has some potential. Right now I wouldn't say it was worth putting any money into, but if they expand on what they have and get some more depth and variety in the content it could be a good little game.
