I don't know if this has been done before, but I was wondering what the best custom class is for Modern Warfare 2 for getting a nuke?

It depends completely upon your playstyle.
Are you aggressive? Defensive? It depends.

Here are the best (or at least in my opinion) weapons:

Assault Rifle: M4A1, No recoil, good clip size and speed + Red Dot.
Sub-Machine: UMP45, great damage, range and clip size + Rapid or Red Dot.
Light-Machine: Aug-BHAR, great damage, no recoil, range, clip size + Grip and Red Dot.

of course there is the crappy 'hey look i have no skills' setup of 'marathon, lightweight, commando'.

I swear every time someone makes that class, a squirrel explodes.

They wouldn't be nearly as bad if during the commando lunge they weren't invincible.

Theres the noob tube variant. Get a scar with tube and a thumper. Thats 4 easy kills. Possibly more with scavenger re-supplies. Use danger close pro and your tubes are better and you kill streaks (harrier then chopper gunner) becomes alot more powerful

My preferred class for getting a nuke though is scar with shotgun attachment which acts as my secondary weapons so I can have a stinger for my secondary. Nothing more annoying than going on a killstreak and being shot by a harrier. perks are scavenger stopping power and steady aim for me. Also I prefer having claymores because when your on 23 kills rushing about is the last thing I want to do because random grenades or tubers or akimbo shotguns or tac-knifers could get you. So I camp it up for the last few kills and claymores help me feel more secure in that

The generally accepted killstreaks are harrier-ac130/chopper gunner-nuke

I find Ac130's are a little short lived but they can potentially get kills alot quicker than a chopper gunner which is good when a team decides to try and shoot it down. Id say theyre better for games of ground war so you can make each explosion count for something

Chopper gunners are better if you happen to get there on a team deathmatch as people will be alot more spread out so you need time to target each man individually. And you dont need to make each shot count as there is no reload time.

Hope this helped

I find that it's your killstreak rewards that make the difference. A good combo is:

1: Harrier Strike.
2: Chopper Gunner.
3: Nuke (obviously).

The map affects this a lot as well. If you get a Harrier Strike on Wasteland, for example, and you're lucky enough to have an opposing team that doesn't bother with stinger missiles, then you'll get a Chopper Gunner and then Nuke pretty fast. It's harder using this method on more built up maps though, as enemies have more places to take cover.

ACR: Red dot, silenced. Bling, stopping power, and steady aim with a Spas 12 w/ grip for a secondary. Best. Class. Ever.

actually it wouldn't matter much as they don't so much 'lunge' as they do 'teleport five feet'.

You don't need a red dot if you can learn to use the ironsights properly. Scavenger/sleight of hand instead can really help in that case. I honestly prefer scavenger, having almost infinite grenades is awesome.
Usually I have silenced with FMJ. But my classes change depending on what kind of gun I'm in the mood to use. And now its a red dot mood. :)

You can technically use any weapon that you feel comfortable with to get a nuke. The real question is, can you survive long enough for 25 kills? To survive getting 25 kills, you will need to find places that you can get kills but not die very easily. Your loadout could use scavenger since I imagine you would be running out of ammo and it would allow you to get more kills as opposed to looking for another weapon. Other killstreaks that can allow you rack up kills also help, most people tend to go for harrier to AC130/Chopper gunner to get a nuke, personally, I sometimes use Pave Low if I'm feeling lucky. You should play more defensively than any kind of aggressive playstyle, since most would find themselves getting too reckless and getting killed.

But in all seriousness, don't get nuke, it practically promotes lone-wolf gameplay and not doing the objectives, and that's what seriously kills any teamwork on Modern Warfare 2.

Getting a Nuke really depends on two things, Map & Play Style.

ALL ON: HARDCORE HQ PRO

Map Type: Any open map - Wasteland, Overgrown (KillStreak Setup: Harrier, Chopper Gunner, Nuke) Weapon Setup: WA2000 or M21 /w Silencer (Perk Setup: Slight of Hand (Pro), Cold Blooded (Pro) and Ninja (Pro).

Map Type: Enclosed or Medium Range - All other maps (Kill Streak = Same as Above) Weapon Setup: ACR, Scar-H or UMP /w Silencer + Red Dot Sight (<--if Bling Pro is on). Perk Setup - Scavenger Pro (Prefered) or Bling (Pro), Cold Blooded (Pro) and Ninja (Pro).

Tactics for: Open Maps - Unfortunately its a controversial one but the best way to gain a Nuke on any Open sniper friendly map is to Camp all out, find yorself an nice spot over looking a good portion of the map and set up tent.
