Modern Warfare 2 Javelin Glitch...

I've just been playing and have been incredibly frustrated by this new glitch people have found. Basically you see people holding a Javelin(anti-aircraft missile) and you shoot them. On killing them, their missile flips into the ground and kills you.
This means they get a kill every time for dying and you get killed in return for a valid kill.
Post here if you are getting frustrated about this, have seen it, are DOING it or any other information!

isn't the javelin the launcher which fires a rocket into the air which then goes back down to the ground? ...if so then that isn't a glitch, its you being too slow

i agree, it aint a glitch, ive seen it many times, there is a glitch i know of in a mpa though, the map quarrie, theres one stone which people can get into...luckily a nice rocket or grenade does the trick

I think what he means is that if you hold down the grenade button then switch to your javelin and run around still holding the grenade button when someone kills you the javelin will fire into the ground, killing anyong near them.

you have to aim and lock on to a particular location, i have seen it happen too. as soon as they die u die with out them ever launching it

It works by cooking a Semtex grenade with the Javelin out then switching back to the Javelin while still cooking the Semtex with the change weapon button. You'll now have the Javelin out and so long as you don't switch weapons, climb a wall, or try to fire it regularly you are now a super suicide bomber.

I tried it 2 or 3 times and it was a blast I've gotta admit... "ALLAH ACHBAR!!!"

But I don't use it at all now because the Grenade explosion from Martydom is a firecracker compared to the Javelin's explosion. Plus it's an instant explosion not a delayed one.

In short it's damn fun but damn unfair. They're patching it soon so no more going suicide bomber on the enemy but it's for the best...

Guess I'll have to go back to Halo if I'm looking for any crazy antics.

Erm...Move away from them? If you know they're pulling this stunt, increase your distance from them? That or flank them?

*sigh* Think people. There are tactics you can use to avoid getting cheap'd out.

Same with campers. You know walking through that area is going to get you killed by someone sitting, but you don't reckon by switching routes, flash, stun or smoke+thermal nading or just fragging the room you could knock them off their perch long enough for a kill or knife? Heck, get the FMJs out and go THROUGH THE WALL.

This is why I cry sometimes at FPSers (Including a friend of mine, by the way). Sometimes there would be an easy answer staring them in the face, neon signs and me spitting blood from my raw throat telling them the way unto Win-ness, only to receive insults back is priceless

Worth pointing out I haven't seen this yet. Cousin's got my copy until this weekend.

Ugh, this has to be one of the most frustrating glitches I've seen. The problem is is that if you see them coming at you and they are already within about 30 feet of you, your most likely dead. But it is quite fun to use in custom matches to mess around with friends.

actually, they hold the trigger down, and as soon as they die, it shoots up and kills whoever killed them, it is in fact a glitch, because i killed a guy that did that from behind, and his javelin killed me.....he couldn't see me..

Glitch or not, they're suspending people for days, weeks, months maybe if they use this, even just once. I never got killed by it yet though, but I have seen it on youtube. But if anyone is at fault, it's IW for not testing the weapon correctly. Only thing that bothers me are people going around with dual shotties, but I just leave a claymore for them, problem solved.

Funny coincidence. In school today my friend told me about this glitch, then playing MW2 later I didn't use the glitch but I was killed by it.

It is pretty damn annoying.

The glitch is that while zoomed in, if the player with the javelin dies, his javelin immediately explodes, usually getting 1-2 kills with it.
