Modern Warfare 2's main score is a kill death ratio. I've seen many videos recently saying how people go into the "negatives" of this ratio. Shouldn't it be said into the decimals or into a fraction, seeing as how there are no negatives involved? Discuss.

I assume they mean negatives in the sense that being killed more than you are killing is a negative result. So .50 means you are killed twice for every one. I think the term negative K/D came from Halo MP though. The stats at the end of the game would show Kills/Deaths and show you whether you went -X or +X kills.

They mean negative kills, eg 90 kills and 100 deaths is a negative k/d.

Mine is 1.32 @ 16000 kills and going up.

The concept of the negative K/D has been around a looooong time. Halo had nothing to do with it.

I don't beleive I stated that it was Halo, I said I think it was. So when did it start then?

I'm just saying, I don't give a crap about my MW2 K/D anymore.
It doesn't matter to me. All I do is run around with the RPG anyway now, since I have BC2.

But yes, negative K/D could mean you died more then you've gotten kills.

So we are pondering if it should be a negitive or decimal(etc) when counting K:D ratio?

I don't really see much difference, but I think in negitive terms would be more accessible.

I never cared much for the kill to death ratio, people often use it as the only authority when it comes to judging a player when no in-game.

But that doesnt take teamwork in to account, the person who may heals or specilizes in other support roles.
