Simply post any tips you might have for playing Modern Warfare 2.

1. ALWAYS keep your eyes open
2. Check your corners
3. Aim down the sights
4. Accuracy is important
5. Never underestimate the advantages of a silenced weapon
6. Play smart above all else.

I usually play Search and Detroy so that is where these tips stem from.

Watch out for the grenade launches when the match starts.

Don't underestimate the F2000.

Bling your RPD with grip and extended mags and become a stationary turret.

Duel wielding the USP.45 will actually make your melee faster.

Thats about all I got.

Stay back (And back up some) for the first few seconds of every round.

Mute everyone anyone who you find annoying, yelling at them just makes it worse.

Do not chuck C4 through a window and detonate it if you don't know where your teammates are in Hardcore (Ehehe).

Aim for the head, that's where the batteries are.

Show your 'Skill' or whatnot with your Controller/Keyboard/other, not your Mouth.

'Avvun in the matches, otherwise you're wasting your time.

Oh, and if you see a teammate jump off a cliff/tall building/other and survive, don't follow suit unless you have Commando Pro.

Tips for the riot shield
-You're like the Heavy in TF2. You move slowly and have no quick and simple counters in a 1 on 1. However, you will die a lot if you have nostrategy, because the enemy team outnumbers you and is much faster.
-Keep the enemy in the center of your screen. This takes practice when you get close, but usually guarantees the kill
-Don't use it on wide-open maps
-Know when to crouch and stand. Standing means your legs are vulnerable but move faster, so the enemy will only hit you if they aim carefully. Crouching means you're mostly invulnerable to gunfire in one direction, but move slowly.
-Stick with teammates. Their run-to-behind-and-knife, or grenading, sort of tactics don't work so well when someone is shooting at them AS they think about how to deal with the shield guy.
-If someone has FMJ, switch class. As far as I can tell, it goes through the shield.

More general tips
-Weigh your killstreaks based on how many kills you normally get. I'd say if you get a 15 streak, normally you'd win anyway. Most of the time the simple things like UAV and carepackage are enough.
-If you hear about an enemy UAV, take a few seconds to see if you can spot it in the air. A FEW SECONDS (lest you get free-killed)
-At least one of your classes should be good at taking down aircraft, but be sure to time your attack on it so it can't fight back. Or, if attempting to kill it yields bad results, just stay inside.

Wow, we managed to get five posts without a Troll.

1. Know the choke points and watch them like a hawk.
2. Know where staring at a choke point leaves you open to counter people doing #1.
3. Never reload in front of a riot shield guy, you're just asking for a throwing knife in your neck.

It wasn't a troll, just someone with a difference of opinion.

OT:

-Apologise after every TK.

-Don't take Martyrdom on maps like Highrise.

-Make sure to balance your weapon combinations - Sniper+SMG, LMG+Magnum, etc.

-Keep moving if in open ground.

-You can see and shoot down enemy UAV's. Most people don't seem to realise this. It takes about half a magazine of ACR fire to bring it down.

My tip is quite obvious: Stop playing that horrible abomination of a multiplayer and trade it in for BC2

Other then that, just use any overpowered perk build with an overpowered weapon and you're set
-Broken server browser.
-10 shots to kill.
-Best perks only available at late levels.
-Gun sounds are weak.
-Disconnect errors abound.

Besides that, I've had to make this argument many times and no one has refuted it; if MANY weapons and perks are overpowered, then are ANY of them really 'underpowered'?

And finally, the clincher: If you have no contribution to the topic at hand, don't contribute. "WELL, I don't like video games at all. You'd be better off taking up juggling. It's a great hobby."

don't play the campaign if you played CoD 4 and loved it. Because MW2 just tramples everything and takes a shit on the story for giggles. Fuck you IW.

As for multiplayer:
Watch out for motherfuckers running really fast. They will "buzzkill" you EVERY time!

Both games are equally fun dude, don't turn this into a flame war. I've played both of them and I enjoyed both of them. MW2 is more arcade while BC2 is more realistic.

OT:
Uhh, don't die.
When in doubt, spray and pray. (i.e. you were caught by surprise)
ACR + supressor + ACOG = easy kills.
Semtex will stick to the riot shield and kill the f***er carrying it.
Go on blind faith and just chuck those throwing knives across the map.
If you can't get high killstreaks on average then choose the lower ones.
DON'T get into a knife fight with someone who has Commando Pro.

L86 + stopping power + grip = goodness and lots of headshots.

Don't forget that Riotsheilders have secondary weapons (unless they have OMA, which would be pointless)

Only use a stinger/javelin in the AA role if you have coldblooded.
Related to above - if you see someone trying to do this, and you don't have coldblooded - don't go near them! For the love of god, go away! Even more so if they're shooting at an AC130...

1) Learn the most popular camping spots and ways to efficiently deal with them. Grenades, Noobtube and RPG's are excellent in eliminating campers. Flashbangs can also be very effective however sometimes the person will randomly shoot so you should still be careful.
2) It's sometimes not worth shooting at someone at long range when you have a silencer. Especially with the UMP. The recoil is not pleasant and you will likely be shot by the person you are shooting at.
3) Know your surroundings.
4) Flash Grenades are your friend.
5) Claymores tend to be most effective when you plant them next doorways just less than 45 degrees from the wall.
6) Never ever follow someone who just went around a corner just before you shot them. You just run right into a trap. Flank or flash them if you really want to kill them.
7) Most importantly, use your brain. You can be really good at MW2 if you use tactics, play wisely and deceive your opponents. Flank the enemy when it's possible. Throw grenades if you think an enemy is there.
8) RPGs are fun as hell.
9) Boosters are fun to hunt down and destroy.

Thats impossible. Unless you use an under slung shotgun.

The only thing I can think of is if your hiding in a building from a kill streak reward look up, you will be amazed how many buildings have a glass roof, especially on terminal!

Get cold-blooded pro! I'm a ground war guy and if you destroy 60 killstreak perks with cold-blooded on, it makes it so your name doesn't show up red to the other team. With people running all over the place, the few second of indecision lets you get the kill. It also allows you to "play dead" in a tough situation...let everyone run past you then shoot them all in the back! You are also not target by helicopters, sentry guns, etc.

Cold-blooded pro, scrambler pro and a silencer...very deadly combo.

Some people may disagree with me on this one, but DO NOT USE SCRAMBLER(PRO) OUTSIDE OF HARDCORE. The only real exception is really close quarters maps with many teammates. I can't count how many time I have seen the screen get fuzzy, and them found out where the guy was hiding or running because of that perk. It's only good for masking teammates really.

Other tips, ***This might work with other weapons but the most usefulness I found was with the RPG and Rangers. If you reload, click the sprint right after the number for your current ammo becomes white again, you will save yourself .5-1 often vital seconds.

All snipers will kill with a chest shot with stopping power besides for extreme ranges or with penetration, be aware of this. Any sniper besides for the M21 is excessively powerful in Hardcore. A silenced M21 w/o stopping power will still kill from across the map most of the time there.

Do not underestimate SitRep. It can be sort of a radar to campers and snipers and the footstep enhancement of the PRO can help with sound w/o having to buy turtle beaches.

If you are having trouble with FFA, try this loadout: UMP blinged with silencer and holographic sight, stopping power, and ninja or commando. For some reason, this class brought me from mediocre to winning 80% of the time.

Imo Scrambler is a very bad perk since the enemy will know you are close

Going into a discussion about tips for a game and saying the game is shit with no useful points for the topic is still somewhat out of order.

Agreed, scrabler has ALWAYS helped me to kill the guy using it. Use Ninja pro instead.

Ninja Pro + Cold Blooded Pro + silenced weapon = deadly silent assassin.
