After returning back from his honeymoon weekend, Notch has issued a challenge to Bethesda Softworks concerning the lawsuit of the name "Scrolls."
I challenge Bethesda to a game of Quake 3. Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors. We select one level, you select the other, we randomize the order. 20 minute matches, highest total frag count per team across both levels wins.

If we win, you drop the lawsuit.

If you win, we will change the name of Scrolls to something you?re fine with.
If Bethesda is dead set on this lawsuit, than sadly I doubt that this challenge will work, but if it does, and this happens, Notch may be responsible for the greatest lawsuit action in videogaming. Kudos to Notch though, if you're gonna do something like this then do it in style. And if Bethesda does accept the challenge, we want Live Streams.

It's nothing compared to when Piratpartiet in Sweden challenged the other political parties to a game of Starcraft 2 last year.

This sounds bloody hilarious...I doubt Bethsada will accept though, but if they do, we will indeed want live streaming so we can watch gaming history being made before our eyes.

Add a bot in nightmare difficulty with a railgun, for extra lulz.
Last one to die wins the lawsuit!

Should a party kill said bot,the other party will owe the first party a thousand dollars, per bot kill.

I saw this, and I couldn't be more delighted with Notch. It's about time we made the legal system fun.

... Said the guy with the profile picture of the Vault-Boy kicking a pregnant woman in the stomach with a smile on his face, which was the banned picture for getting the reputation "Childkiller".

Yeah, that's really mature.

If Bethesda accept this challenge they'll get a ton of positive PR from it I bet; even more if they win and drop the lawsuit anyway.

Say's someone with YOUR profile picture?

Besides, Bethesda could have just asked before sending in the lawsuit. We never hear of companies sending cease and desists before lawsuits recently.

It least it's better then going to court and waste everyone time and money. Also did I mention that this is will not waste time like the court? If not then this way will not waste people time like I'm doing to people time, Wasting their time.

Well now thats not very nice, I may be an asshole but I am not stupid or childish. If you were right which your not I could simply have said we known our own when we see them.
Talk all you like, that picture of yours is bother immature and childish, which makes you a hypocrite.

Which begs the question, why is a method which would actually save the courts time and money considered childish just because we would consider it fun.

I say it is childish because it is the tactic used by a fourth grader in the schoolyard. It does not actually settle anything properly. Its kind of like me saying if I can beat the shit out of you then my argument is correct and yours is wrong. See where I am going here? It ignores all evidence, which is what a fair decision is supposed to be based on. It does not prove who is legally right or who is legally wrong it just proves who is better at video games which should be completely irrelevant.

My avatar has absolutely no effect on what I say at all. Judging somebody based on a picture and instead of what they write is also an extremely immature thing to do.
Its an option, Bethesda do not have to accept, they can go right on ahead and use the lawsuit if they wish. Simply having a bit of fun is definitely not a problem here and neither is the challenge.

Hell, nobody even pretends that it would be fair. Nobody has said that in this thread. Oh, and protip: If you want to be taken seriously, don't use one of the most childish images used in gaming and then try to call something else childish. You of all people should know that appearances change peoples perceptions. I say this because you seem to have some intelligence, which I find rather refreshing.

Anyway, i'm done with this, wasn't really my goal to get into an argument
