Earlier I was playing MGS4 skipping the cut scenes I tell my self I will watch later but one cut scene interested me enough from the start to keep me watching and what I saw was a ninja drop from a building onto a group of killer robots jumping on there heads slicing them with his sword wile avoiding bullets and killer robot feet trying to crush him by inches yet still effortlessly causing the robots to shoot each other at one point he was fighting them off in a handstand with swords on his feet only to finish it all off with a sword fight with a practically immortal vampire.

After watching that I just kinda sat there waiting for the game to load in awe at what i just saw that was petty much my perfect fight shown right in front of my eyes.

Im not just being a MGS4 fan boy there is a point to this thread

My question to you is what moments in gaming have you seen and said to you self "wow" it can be moment in the game itself or a unbelievable moment online.

Well an unbelievable online moment was when playing CoD 4 Boom by S.O.A.D started playing and every time they said "Boom" a grenade always killed someone beside me I found myself sitting there slack joined until harsh reality kicked while my guy was stabbed in the back by the god damn Opfor.

Two instances come to mind.

1) Playing Mercenaries and dropping a Fuel-Air bomb on myself...and surviving! Then looking around at everything that didn't survive.

2) Playing Hitman and checking the place out after a huge gunfight. Like the quite after the storm.

SPOILERS:

In Act 3 of MGS4 when Liquid is controlling all of the SOP system and turning off everyone's guns and such and then just pointing at helicopters and making them crash. The whole entire fucking scene made my jaw detach from my own mouth, made both my eyes pop out of my head symotaniously rolling around on the ground, and drop my controller by accident at the whole awesomeness of that scene.

That's 2 things MGS4 has made me do without wanting to; Crying manly tears and dropping my controller accidentally. God that scene was amazing.

The cutscenes in God of War 2 involving Rhea and Cronus/Chronos, Zeus growing up on Gaia, the Olympians trouncing the Titans.
Realizing how fast I just mowed down ANYONE in RE4 with the Chicago Typewriter, namely the village chief.
Realizing I just knocked out a guy in 13 seconds on Def Jem: FFNY with one of my created guys.
The various crashes in GTA4 be it Niko flying through the glass, another person flying, the whiplash killing them, their car catching on fire and the times I flew out the car off a bridge to either land in dirt or the water.
The fact that I was ONE shot from dying while chasing after Dimitri in (one of) the final missions of GTA4.
Randomly firing off shots in GTA4 that turned into a firefight between 2 random people and the police, completely forgetting about me hiding behind a mailbox.

Well TC it's good to know you are skipping the "not-so memorable" cutscenes, but the one Jumpilon posted (about the end of ACT 3 - DO NOT READ IT IF YOU AREN'T THAT FAR! You'll ruin the moment) is also one of the most awesome things I've seen in a video game.

I'm going to stop there though, I was about to post like, so many amazing moments in games but I have to go to bed man...

MGS4's amazing. Do try and force yourself to sit through the cut scenes though, when you can.
But, my personal favorite was the very beginning of Bioshock from when your plane crashes untill you pick up the wrench.

There were numerous cut scenes in MGS3 that I absolutely loved. Shadow of the Colossus had some pretty good moments as well.

There's probably been loads of times but one small one I remember distinctly was in GTAIV multiplayer: Another player was driving straight at me in his car, I was already facing him and without moving I aimed right at him with my assault rifle and popped off some rounds into his face, his car rolled to the side, just missing me. I went over to it to inspect my handiwork, there were four bullet holes in the windscreen in a neat line, all silhouetted with my victims blood... it's just the little things like that that are so satisfying to me.

The whole parade scene from Final Fantasy VIII was exceptionally well done. The music, graphics, mood, everything; I just found myself putting the controller down and watching it. Then resetting and watching it again.

SPOILER WARNING for CoD4:
There is a cut-scene at some point in the second act of Call of Duty 4 where you become partially a protagonist, since you can move around but in strict form you will not do much more than observe.
At this moment in the story, the USA character in the game, has just helped his team retrieve a downed helicopter female pilot. The chopper the character sits on is flying away from the scene when the unredemptive truants of the game detonate a small megaton nuclear devise. All the helicopters in the squadron are felled and so eventually is his too. The character wakes up to find himself inside the wreckage of the vehicle. Outside all is tinged in a red light, and he can be moved in a very sluggish stunned way. I remember I climbed up with all effort inside the destroyed helicopter and jumped down from its tail to a windswept exterior. Next to me were the remains of the woman we had just rescued. So far I had been looking all along to the ground. But just then, while the character breathed heavily and was threatening with passing out I looked up. The sky was crimson, and a slow and thin mushroom cloud was rising not far way from the spot where I was slowly and irremediably dying.

the first time i killed someone inside a tank with a sniper rifle in battlefield 2. I used the second sniper rifle and pointed at the front of the tank. suddently the tank stops moving and in the top-right corner of my screen it appears a message saying i killed the guy inside the tank. I felt like the man.

in battlefield 2142, as the anti-tank class, going under a walker (something similar to a metal gear, for those not familiar with the game) and firing a rocket. I dunno what happened, but when i come to my senses, i'm miles above the battle zone, falling. Probably some sort of bug, and it was more of a "wtf moment", but still...

Nah that's meant to happen so that you don't get killed by the walker wreck exploding, just don't forget to pull your 'chute.

I was about to mention that moment i can remember my uncle coming in the room and ask if it was a movie i was watching which it very well could of been.
