First of all, hello, this is my first post after some time of lurking here. :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC7b6642AWM - trailer

I've recently downloaded Monaco and after a few hours I've decided to buy the original version, because I enjoyed it a lot in single player and wanted to check out the multiplayer. The game, as expected, turned out to be a really rewarding, fun experience. The variety of classes with different skills is great and adds to the replay value (my personal favorites are The Gentleman, The Hacker, and The Cleaner). As I suspected, playing the game alone was still fun, although a lot harder, since the later maps were obviously designed for the multiplayer and using many of our burglars's skills.

Long story short - if you like indie/sneaking games, you'll most likely love this one, especially with friends.

What do you guys think about it?

(PS. If you're up for co-op game, my SteamID is Vlauer94)

Is it a bit like Frozen Synapse in terms of gameplay?

^Not quite, it's very tactical, yes, but not turn-based and when the heist in Monaco goes haywire all hell breaks loose... Plus, you obviously focus on getting the objectives and stealing cash, and there's barely any ammo and things you can use to get rid of the guards (you get 1 bullet for 10 coins collected, if you have a shotgun/EMP/smoke bomb/tran. crossbow)

(They're both similarly awesome, though)

Great fun, my main complaint is mostly UI related - it gets hard to recognize where you are at times with all the bright colours and VFX flying around. So it gets confusing when you have 4 players running around.

Would be nice to disable any VFX when picking up coins, and perhaps lower the contrast of the LOS visible areas so it's not as brightly coloured. And disable the status ring around your friends, maintaining only the one around you, so it's easier to tell at a glance who's who, since your colour can change based on which character you're playing.

Also some way to like see the layout of the map after scoping things out and drawing lines for A goes here, and B goes here would be nice, like a whiteboard system.

Actual system bugs, you have to invite a friend by starting up a MP game, then options -> invite friend. There's no way to right click on them in your Steam friend's list to invite or join them directly.

BUT other than that, I enjoy it a lot, I like the division in classes, line of sight mattering, having to escape vs. just outright fighting and such. I kind of wish Payday was more like Monaco, more caper/heist gameplay and less grindy shooting stages.

Yeah, the escape point is making the game way more thrilling imo. However, I can't help but to find the Pickpocket useless for anything except speedrunning...

I've been considering picking it up myself for a lack of anything to play locally (apart from Borderlands 2).
Looks fun.
