Hey all. I'm knew to the boards here.

I was wondering as to what your opinions on Monday Night Combat were. Personally, I'm astonished that a small little game like that is as incredibly entertaining as it is. I've been let down time and time again by the more recent big 360 releases, and a part of that is from the real lack of fun. You know that feeling you get when you're honestly enjoying yourself? That whole "OMG THIS IS SO AWESOME HOLY CRAP!" feeling? Well, maybe not with all the caps...

I used to get that back in the 32 bit era and beforehand. The new games these days seem to suffer from being pulled from cookie cutter molds and its all the same crap. I miss the innovation.

So, to get back to my point, Monday Night Combat brings out that honest sense of fun that I haven't had in quite some time. That's why I like it. What are your thoughts on the game as a whole?

I like it. I played a Tank. I was shocked at how much fun it was just keeping the robots away from the moneyball and letting my teammates focus on killing other players while I held the fort. Sometimes, I'd go a whole match without seeing an enemy team member, just bot killin'.

I think Uber took a risk by mashing two very different styles of game together and pulled it off with astounding skill. It's a fantastically fun game. It caters to a big variety of play styles, it's easy to immediately pick up and play and yet complex enough to allow for a lot of variety.

Plus, I've been on the official forums quite a bit to find out news about updates and such, and the developers are really involved with the community. The creative director reqularly posts in normal threads, and they're fantastic at answering any questions about the game. They've also been incredibly proactive about fixing bugs, straight up asking for the community's help with fixing some of them. Did I mention that the first piece of DLC, featruing two new maps, a new(ish) game mode along with huge amounts of bug fixes and balance tweaks will be free?

Also, the loading screen for the game is a piece of bacon high-fiving a shotgun shell.

Its nice to see that the game's getting a positive response. I do pity it though. The first patch they released to fix a lot of bugs came out right around Halo Reach's release date. And now they intend on releasing their first DLC in the same month that Call of Duty: Black OPS is coming out.

Has there been any word about what the other 2 dlc's are going to be? Or is the only info out currently about the free one?

It's an amazing game. I was waiting on the download screen for about an hour waiting to get it and then experienced problems downloading it. I look forward to it a lot and it cam through with amazing gameplay and good variety.

In fact, I think it's a very largely underrated because of it being like TF2... but more TF2 is better.
