monitor issues

model LCM-17v8 17 inch, when turned on it will show the screen momentarily then go black i've tried a different power cord and i know it isnt the vga cord because it works fine on my 16:9, the port on my engtx460 is also good as i tested it with the same 16:9, anyone got an idea what the issue might be? been searching for several hours QQ

Try changing the resolution on your computer to a lower 5:4 ratio before connecting it to that monitor.

I see that the monitor's maximum resolution is 1280x1024 and 5:4, so if you've been previously using a 16:9 monitor with your GTX460 (which has a maximum resolution of 3840x2400 and 16:10), then you could have your computer set to a resolution the monitor can't handle (or it could be natively outputting a resolution that will kill your monitor if it didn't shut down).
