So the newest book for fans of the monster girl genre is here in the US, courtesy of Seven Seas. Its' The Monster Girl Encyclopedia, Vol. 1 by Kennco Cross.

Its' pretty good, and I won't waste any more time talking - here is a preview from my copy I got today;

Afraid you'll have to risk. Unless you can somehow find the "Find in Store" option on Barnes and Noble's page, because I sure couldn't. That's the reason I ended up having to order it online, because as far as I could tell, they're only selling it online, not in stores.

I'm kinda on the fence on whether or not I'd even get it. On one hand: THIS DUDE RIGHT HERE began my maddening descent into the rabbit hole that is the sexy monstergirl world with great designs, world-building, and story potential; and on the other: as the M.G.E. became more popular, the world expanded and got more in-depth with the lore and settings, and that's when everything started to go down hill to the shit bogs. The rewrites and revisions made monsters basically all succubi, they got waifuized, meaning that they lose all intrigue and character when they get their man and become (for the most part) ever-faithful, love-drunk, house slaves, and the constantly revised "monster energy" basically becoming a poorly defined mcguffin that changes any and everything at the slightest convenience.

I'd rather wait for the (hopefully) eventual anime or hentai ova adaptation. Fuck knows it's coming and is long overdue.
