So you want people to die just because they were ignorant of dangers or just didn't know any better at the time?
That's fucking horrible!
Thought someone with your ideals would agree with it. You know let the stupid people die so that your country doesn't have to bother making laws for every little stupid event that happens, like driving without a seat belt.
I refuse to allow people to die just because they were not aware of the dangers!
It's not that they weren't aware that makes them stupid, its because they still make stupid decisions when they know they shouldn't have. Like a guy drinking ammonia when it clearly says do not drink.
So you would sacrifice the people that just didn't know the danger for the sake of getting rid of the idiots who acted knowing full well the dangers?
I'm all for "The End Justifys The Means" but the benifit of the end must out-wiegh the sacrifice of the means.
How can a person not know the danger when it says in the bottle of ammonia.
[HEADING=1] DO NOT DRINK [/HEADING]
Its common sense
A young person who most likely wasn't familier with things like that wouldn't know.
Knowlage is passed down, otherwise it must be tested.
You only know ammonia is not safe to drink because you were told of the dangers of drinking stuff like that!
Well that's what parents and schools are for (mostly parents). And if they still do it then there stupid.
You rather have the parents warn them instead of a label? I rather rely on people who did test not someone who might not even be home.
Um yes, because its the parents job to teach their kid what not to do. I hate it when parents are too much of a pussy to talk to their own kids about sex and violence that they let the government do the parenting for them.

You know how many times I stuck my finger in a wall outlet? Fucking ONCE.

We've become a nanny state.
Me to, though I thought a copper wire was like a fire hose for electricity, all I remember is the burn now.

You need a label to tell you not to drink this stuff? I had to be assured by several of my friends that vinegar is safe to put on and into food because it smelled so bad let alone some cleaner. And since when do children read and respect labels? They HAVE to be taught by their parents. It's a basic lesson. And if it somehow slipped their minds to teach it, then they shouldn't be having children.

These laws were introduced because it's not always evident that that green box has mains voltage running through it, or that that bottle of transparent colourless liquid is highly corrosive - you can't always have someone standing there telling everyone, or hoping that these things magically become general knowledge.

Then, of course, you've set a precedent for warning about hazardous things. This leads to people going, 'this is dangerous too - it needs a warning!', and so they proliferate. Eventually it gets to the point where having the warning is the norm, so if a hazardous thing is NOT labelled then any accident that occurs can be legally made the fault of whoever was responsible for the hazard.

It changes from being a service for security to becoming a legal liability. Fun fun!

Like many things in life, in some ways compulsive warning labels can be seen as a logical development of an idea that gets taken to an almost counter-productive or hostile end. Guidelines become expected standards become material for lawsuits.

As to 'letting the dumb kill themselves', whoever condoned that idea would be partially responsible for each death that resulted from subsequent changes. And even 'genetically desirable' people make mistakes sometimes, for you eugenicists.

I do see your point about the labels.

I did not mean to imply stupid people are genetically deficient. They do, typically, make for terrible parents and that lack of parenting creates a new generation of people just like themselves. Stupid people, by the way, do tend to have a lot of children and so it spreads. And by allowing them to take themselves out of this world you save the well being and lives of others who inevitable subsequent actions would impact.

Alright, so when the stupid people are dead, you're gonna take their jobs as janitor? Someone's gotta do it.

Although, I may just be disagreeing because I think the loss of human life is fucking disgusting.

I think that you should have to take a parenting test and go through alot of extensive testing in order for it to be legal to have kids. And so the idiots cant complain, make them sign a contract before they go into it. Most likely they wont read the contract. Id love to see the look on their faces when they realise that.

common sense common sense common sense! IF it can kill rats in can hurt you, dont touch it. You are not cool for doing something dangerous, you are retarded. If you are too retarded to realise that cool is basicly your friends telling you "act like me or you suck" then you are yet again retarded. If you try to use something out of its intended purpose, you are retarded ,either that are smart. but to be smart with it you have to study what it is and use it in a way that wont kill you.

what some people do astound me, IT IS COMMON SENSE! DO NOT TOUCH THE SHARP OBJECT! DO NOT PLACE ON YOUR FINGER! DO NOT USE AS A TOY!

Hey guys, remember common sense?

I feel this video is relevant [SKIP TO 2:10]:

Parents should teach their kids common sense and tell them the dangers of the world, then let the kid disregard their advice if they wish. Anyone who taught their kids right will never have to go through the experience of a child dying due to their own stupidity. Cruel? Maybe a little. Would the world be a better place? Damn right. We'd be left with people who were gonna teach each other not to be stupid...

yes. Because you lacked common sense. Vinegar is something everyone recognizes. It's in every fish and chip place in the world and even in the normal stores tehre are, "Salt and vinegar chips".

Also, defending yourself to a judge because someone broke in and threatened you would be easy, no?
...
Surprisingly, and sadly, no. In the UK, at least, you have to be able to PROVE that what you did was a 'reasonable' reaction to the attack against you. Killing someone in self defence would be a ***** to prove, even if they had bust into your house waving a machette having left a trail of bodies down the street. (well, maybe..) There was a case recently where a young lady was being raped by a taxi driver, but managed to stick something (her high heel? his own knife?) through the guy's leg. She hit an artery and the guy died. She went to jail FOR DEFENDING HERSELF WHILST BEING RAPED, leading to an accidental death of the perpetrator. So yeah, be FUCKING careful in self defence to have an excuse for everything, and if it all goes tits up GTFO and get an alibi ;)

Eh, you still kinda come off that way - I mean, there's talk in there of inherited stupidity, a correlation between stupidity and high birth rates, and the 'spread' of stupidity through said high birth rates. All smacks of genetic cleansing through encouragement of Darwin Award [http://www.darwinawards.com/] candidates. Not accusing, just sayin'.

To follow your plan to its goal and then make life simpler and faster for everyone, why not just execute anyone who can't pass a parenting test and who fall beneath an IQ threshold? No stupid parents = no stupid children - job done :D No smell corpses lying around, and no danger posed by stupid people!

Or we could just educate everyone better? Just an idea, throwing it out there ;)

Smart people do stupid things.

This is pretty much a fundamental reason we have laws.

Everyone does stupid things, but doing stupid things doesn't make you a stupid person.

I think it also depends on where you live as well, I would need to look into Canadian laws about that sort of thing (Honestly, not sure about it) but I know in the US they have a much easier time with that sort of thing... in fact I hear you can just go ahead and shoot if they are trespassing... don't even need to defend your self... "Oh look, someone is stealing mah tv *Bang*"
