More embarrassing then porn

We all dreaded it in our youth. Our parents would walk in and catch us strangling the anaconda (or inchworm, as the case may be), and we would be forever shamed. For all intents and purposes, this would be one of the most embarrassing moments a normal individual could face.

But then there are those moments. You know the ones. The ones that would be even more embarrassing then taming the dragon. They may be completely inoffensive, and not as taboo, but those things are somehow even worse then porn. I've felt that way a few times. The first instance I can think of is playing the opening to FFX-2. It's just that bad. I didn't make it far, but I honestly dreaded that my dad would walk in and disown me if he saw me play this:

What are those things that are so weird, or so bad, that they would leave you more embarrassed then bludgeoning the cat with the tree trunk (I may have weird fetishes). The things so bad, that you would lie and claim that you were watching porn, just to avoid getting caught. Double points if the things aren't really offensive or taboo, just mortifying. Quadruple points if it's a guilty pleasure that you love, that no one can ever know about.

God, this. So many things generally don't have very much sex, but will schedule extended erotic pointlessness for whenever family members will walk in.

Happened the other day with Misfits. Sure, there are semi-frequent sex scenes, but it's mostly about powers and stuff. Not the episode I happened to be watching, though. Sex from start to finish. Episode after that was normal again, but nobody was watching.

I have to admit there are several anime series that I've seen that I would be cripplingly embarrassed if someone I know caught me watching. As you say in the OP...not particularly offensive or taboo stuff, just potentially hugely embarrassing. Especially given that I've been increasingly watching more and more cutesy stuff lately.

I used to feel that way about playing Project Diva F, but since then I've come around to it. Most of it, anyway.

Can someone explain to me what exactly is so embarrassing about being caught jerking off or having other people around when a sex scene is being played? I really don't understand it. Not too long ago, the lock on my door gave way and my mother walked in on me jerking off pants-around-the-ankles with full anal being displayed on screen. She muttered an apology as she left and it was never brought up again. No muss, no fuss, no embarrassment.

I dunno, I just don't get why sexuality gets people's nerves so shot sometimes.

Anyway, as for my own embarrassment. Well back when I was in the cadets I once had to address everyone else to let them know it was time to come inside (this was at a fancy, formal dinner). Well as soon as I stood up and said "Ladies and Gentleman, can I have your attention. It's time..." then BAM! I froze. I could not form the rest of the words when I saw several dozen people turn their heads toward me, all gawking. I stood there silent for what felt like a whole minute before I finally uttered the remaining words and stepped aside with my eyes to the ground.

Now that's embarrassing.

Me and my girlfriend at the time slept over my parent's house. So we go to bed until hey, we start kissing and we're getting horny OH NOES.

I've always felt I knew my parents enough to basically tell them "piss off" in a non-vulgar, teenaged fashion if they seemed to have a problem with what I was watching/doing. When I started getting into anime my step father found it incredibly odd and "girly" at times. I let him know I didn't care what he thought, he got irritated and then left me alone about it.

I don't think I ever really got embarrassed by something within my family. I think I just got angry when they didn't respect my privacy or what I liked to do. I didn't question what they did, so it only seemed fair.
