I think Shepard can be that most badass person in the room if you play your cards right.

Also he can have fucking red glowing eyes!

DOG, ripping a Strider's brains right the hell out.
I do believe your argument has just been rendered invalid.

While playing New Vegas I raided Caesars camp with Boone, and finally got to his tent. I, or we, killed all the guards and I handed Boone a chainsaw, he went right for Caesar and lopped his head right off. The best part though was right after when Boone said "Thumbs down you son of a *****!", a nice reference to the real Caesar and his colliseum antics.

I kind of want to go after Caesar over and over once with each companion, just to see if they all got cool sayings like that.

Pretty much anything Shepard does

The cutscenes in the last boss fight of LotSB are pretty badass too.

EDIT: I just watched part of a LP of dwarf fortress adventure mode where he wrestled a sasquatch to the ground, gouged out his eyes with his bare hands, and strangled it to death with his turban. Good god is DF awesome

The fight itself was awesome, but I'm afraid I was too blown away by how well done the scene was handled. That's how you do a cinematic. I think I've got a bit of a clue why so many people like this series.

Fun fact of the day: Some historians thing that thumbs up meant to kill the person, and to save them, he would put his thumb into his fist, representing sheathing a sword.

Also, if you mean Julius Caesar, he was long dead by the time the Colliseum was built.

In my book (read: multiple playthroughs of ME and ME2) Sheppard is a serious badass, whether you play Paragon or Renegade. The opening sequence of ME2 pretty much sums it up, the rest of the game confirms that.

He dies.
Not really looking good for Humanity.

Anyway, most badass video game character is Kratos in God of War.
The first one.

I like to think that he ultimately sacrificed himself in order to save everyone he could but ended up getting spaced and pretty much roasted and crushed into some planet's soil.

Anyway, I didn't mention Kratos because I've only played like one hour of GoW in my life. Nice game, a bit too gross at times.
