When describing games, we tend to get into huge flame wars over "X is rip-off of Y" and "X is completely original and Y should *insert horrible action here*." What is coincidence, what was simply inspired by, and what was sold as "a copy of X" just to sell it to the publisher is debatable subject that will leave all involved burned. This isn't about that.

What are the games that are so blatantly just stealing from another game that you wonder why the game hasn't been sued out of existence yet?

Here is the one I came across: FINAL COMBAT http://fc.xunlei.com/zhiye.shtml

Country musicians who sing with a "country" accent, even though they don't speak it, is a plagiarism in my mind.
Plagiarism... of an accent?
Oh man, I could make millions if I copyrighted a British accent.

Most urban fantasy is pure plagiarism. Twilight is just the most well known example.

Gameloft. Check out some of their games. Direct rip offs with just a slight reskin and rename.
Gameloft wind me up a little bit with their whole argument of "They're tributes, all ideas have been done before" stuff. How difficult would it be to come up with some original ideas?

What was that PSN game by Capcom that was a direct rip off of 'Splosion Man? Explodemon? That was pretty bad.

Darksider ripped off a bunch of really popular games going so far as to even have a gun that shoots blue and orange portals to complete puzzles with.

Rock Band: Unplugged was a rip off of the Amplitude/Frequency franchise (Amplitude still being my favorite music game). Of course, I think they were made by the same company, but I still think it counts as it's a separate game series that's the exact same in terms of gameplay. That's said, I still loved it.

I think it actually just ripped off the story of the Native Americans (-_-)

There was a movie on SyFy a while ago called "The Terminators" and it was about a bunch of robots that kill people...hmmm.
EDIT: And it was made by the same people that made this:
hmmm.

*goes beneath flame shield and transmits with long-range radio*

Every single Mario and Zelda game after Super Mario Bros on NES and Zelda 2 have been blatant plagiarism of said games. trouble is, Nintendo fanboys are as bad as (if not worse than) Apple fanboys. So it really doesn't matter. New Mario Game = Insta-buy.

Oh, and also Quantum Theory.

at first I was confused, and then I lol'd

OT: probably the original set of Disney movies, because the Grimm Brothers did it all first, albeit...more grim.

Oh god I just made that pun.

As said before, the entire back catalog of Gamesloft. As well as most of Zynga's stuff. In fact this happens a lot lately due to marketing guys noticing how Apple Sheep and Casuals seem to bleed money. I'd wager the reason Apple really don't allow Flash on iPads and the like is so people don't go to Newgrounds.

Fortress Craft is a rip-off of Minecraft. Also, Minecraft is a rip-off of Infiniminer. BUT WHEN XBOX DOES IT, IT'S EVIL!
