Hey guys, the title is a bit odd. You see, I am a bit of a fat ass (not quite to the level that people judge me though), and food in some cases makes me happy. I not talking about "eat every ten minutes to stop crying", I am talking about celebration foods. if I am having a steak, something special is going on, and thus my mood is lightened.

But the flip side to this is that there are some foods that just depress me. The type that you eat and literally go "Meh" over. The example for me would be that the power at my house had gone out as my family and I were away on a short trip, and when we returned, all of our perishables had spoiled. The only things left other than spices were some buns, a bottle of ketchup, and one of mustard. After over an hour of cleaning out the fridge, it was evident that there was no time to get to the store, and no places deliver to the area I live in on the out skirts of town, so I basically ended up eating a sandwich containing only a bit of ketchup and mustard.

The discussion: What would be your "condiment sandwich"? What have you eaten that (although not terrible) was so bland and disappointing that it nearly depressed you?

I've never eaten this, but it seems too damn appropriate:

For me personally, whenever I eat 1/2 to a whole bag of junk food. (usually chips)

Oatcakes. They're delicious with cheese but alone they're the most rancid creations this side of Marrakesh.

The tears of children upon realizing they'll never accomplish anything in life.

Depressing, but I'll be damned (quite literally) if they aren't delicious.

"America, eatin' my lunch from a single bowl, in my parents' basement..."

I can't really think of any depressing foods. When I'm depressed I end up eating ice cream, but I can't think of any foods that actually depress me.

I subsist entirely upon those.

I've never had my day ruined by eating bad food, I did spend 30 dollars on a all you can eat buffet and it was pretty crappy so I wasn't happy but I still had fun.

An entire tub of Ben and Jerry's. It was chocolate and tear flavored. I felt like such a cliche.

Rice... I like the asian rice, that scented stuff or coconut rice or sushi rice. But Uncle Ben's? It's just damn depressing but my mom loves it so we have it with otherwise good meals.

Also, this one time I went to McDonalds and ate a Double Big Mac, large fries, 6-pack of nuggets, a jr. chicken and a large coke. I felt depressed afterwards, even though it was fun while it lasted...

One time I was nursing a hangover, and the only food in the house was those dry flavourless crackers that you eat with cheese and stuff. So I ate that. It was so painfully bland.

When in college I lived on bologna sandwhiches. Now, just thinking about bologna makes me a bit depressed.

It was not a meal to look forward so, that's for sure.

I once made some grits (a beloved food of mine) and accidentally poured too much salt into the bowl. Rather than toss the whole batch, I tried my best to manually remove as much salt as possible. Once I realized that this didn't help that much, I dived through my fridge and cupboard looking for something to put in that would make it taste better. This is my recipe for failure:

Grits
A ton of salt
Mustard
Sugar
Butter
Maple Syrup
Cheese
Vomit [Only applied to the bowl after the first bite has been taken].

Few times have I thought that suicide would have made everything okay, and this was one of those times.

I went to this southern BBQ place that opened up in my home town recently and ordered a pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese on the side, one of my absolute favs at any BBQ joint.

It was disappointing how tasteless the mac and cheese was and the quality of the pulled pork was just awful.
