I see the word epic thrown around here a lot but I doubt many of the games it is used to describe actually deserve it. That got me wondering, whats the most epic game you've played this gen?

For me its definitely God of War 3 (actually its tied for first with Metal Gear Solid 4 and Infamous....) I've yet to play the Uncharteds (yeah I know I'm missing out) but I can't wait to play them.

For me Uncharted 2 does have a pretty epic feel to it, I'm actually playing through it for the first time right now. The other game for me is RDR. Just the size of that world and the detail it contained.

Mass Effect 1 and 2. I haven't had a game completely blow me away like these two did in a long time, especially the first one.

Pretty much the same answer except I disliked Mass Effect 1. I'll admit, it did feel epic at times but it felt drowned by the surrounding boredom. Mass Effect 2; very epic game.

Amnesia is pretty epic. In its own kind if way.

But Uncharted (espacially 2) is good stuff.

I loved them both, but I'm an RPG whore and ME1 felt like an RPG with shooter elements, while ME2 felt like a shooter with RPG elements. Both were miles ahead of 99% of the game released in the past 5 years though.

I'm also an RPG whore but, for some reason, I didn't really like Mass Effect 1. Maybe it's just that I don't really like RPGs with guns. I prefer shooters with some RPG elements tossed in. Although, I did love Borderlands.

The only part of ME1 that really bored me was in the very beginning, getting out of the damn Citadel. Once you factor in all the side quests, you could spend at least 4 or 5 hours in the Citadel before even getting the game started, especially without a strategy guide or walkthrough. But once that part was over, the pace really picked up for me. ME2 had a much less epic feel to it, but there was definitely a lot more action in it, which is always good.

The Mass Effect Series. Bioware made something so massive, well written and complex that it will be a classic of gaming years from now.

I'm gonna' be honest though, Cataclysm has been pretty epic so far if you're big in to Warcraft.

I didn't get a less epic feel to it. I found it to be a lot more epic. I know it was the same formula, with the suicide mission, but it's just everything in it made you think "Awesome"... Like how
you die at the beginning.

And even the little bits like the illusive man sitting in front of a fucking star.
