What is, in your mind, the most interesting fictional culture? This can extend to any media: moies, games, comics, TV shows, what have you.

I personally like the Klingons from Star Trek. They're a military race who have very strict honor codes. The culture is really fleshed out: their economy is a free market, they have particular mating rituals, and they even have their own speakable language which you can learn by buying a dictionary in the real world. It's a very strange culture that I find just fascinating.

Elves, Dwarves, and mainly, Trolls. They exist in nearly every piece of existing (high fantasy) fiction, yet they're never the same. Especially the definition of Troll seems vary heavily from game to game (compare Warcraft trolls to LOTR trolls, for example). I'm also one of those folks who has 'studied' the LOTR languages for some time.

Look up Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro for some haunting stuff.

I'm going with the Elcor from Mass Effect. The slow-talking big guys, for those who don't recall.

I thought the federation didn't even use money, they have replicators for food and clothing. How are they free market, or better yet, what markets are there?

While the Federation itself does not use currency, the Klingons on Kronos do still use money between themselves. I think.

I find everything about [a href=http://eberron.wikia.com/wiki/Eberron_Wiki]D&D's Eberron[/a]campagin setting to be really interesting.

More specifically the Kalashtar. I wish I was a human with an enternal familial spirit sharing my psionic and tibetenesque powers.

Seconded.
Third.
Fourthded... Is that even a word??

I'm also going to have to say that pretty much all of Tolkien's races and cultures are good.
Fifth..ed.

Greenskins are the incarnation of Keep It Simple, Stupid. It's definitely not elaborate, but it's fun to notice that the greenskin culture, in it's simpleness, actually makes sense, and would work.
