What glitch have you encountered that basically altered your game state, or rendered your game unbeatable?

I actually had one very recently, its not so much game breaking as its not to much a 'bug' as bad coding. I was playing the new FIFA Manager in the SPL as Celtic, after the 33 games i was top of the league by a few points, cant remember how many. Then comes the Split, for those who dont know, after 33 games, the league splits into top half and bottom half, 5 games each, its not a playoff, just extra games to bring it up to a total of 38.

My team unforunatly mostly imploded in the split, i lost all but 2 games i think, but overall i managed to get enough points to win the league by 1... here comes what pissed me off. Instead of the game taking the season overall as who should win the league, it only came down to the last 5 games, so Rangers, who won 4 out of 5 won the league, where I, who only got 4 points, finished 4th, so in essence, i could have had my team coast along the season, ended 6th, then ramp up the aggression and determination in the last 5 games, and finish top.

I'm sure ive had worse bugs and glitches in the past, but this just happened a few days ago, so its still fresh.

Anyone who's played Pokemon G/S/C long enough knows this one. When the internal battery runs dry, the game no longer holds saves. It doesn't warn you about this, there's no error message or anything. You just turn it on one day, and your save file is gone forever.

The most recent one would be in Mass Effect 2. I've had much worse, but this is the most recent. Sometimes Commander Shepard decides it would be a good idea to get ON TOP of cover. So you can't move, and you're out in the open. Even if you do manage to win any battles, you still can't progress.
Another was in MGS Peace Walker. the save file corrupted when I was an hour shy of playing it for one hundred hours.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. In the Temple of Time, there's a part where you have to guide a statue through the temple. No matter what you do, DO NOT SAVE IN THIS PART! The statue will disappear, it will make the game impossible to beat and you will have to restart the whole game again. This is the 6th of 8 dungeons.

That happened to me in Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced for the GBA. Internal battery died, 120+ hours gone. Tried starting again, thought that I might play a different class. 40 mins of gameplay after tutorial (omg that's really annoying that tutorial) I try to save and can't. Great :(

In Fallout 3 when I had different add-ons the final quest (before the broken steel) glitched so that Sentinel Lions could not spit out the right dialogue to finish the quest.
I found that getting rid of some of their own add-ons fixed the problem.

Needless to say I was Livid with pure anger towards the in competent people who didn't pay test their own game properly.

They might have fixed it in a patch latter but I feel insulted be the mistake anyway.

It happened only recently. There was plenty of bad language, anger and need for alcohol.

Dead Space 1.
There's episode called vaguely "centrifuge" - everyone who played it knows what i'm talking about. Without spoilering too much : it's about running around big hall, in hope to reach small niche, waiting there for big machinery to move next to your hideout and then running to next one.

Unfortunately, Isaac (protagnoist) refuses to move as fast as possible - he simply drags on like another episode of "Bold and Beautiful" never quickly enough to reach safe place. Just prior to entering niche there's SPLAT! and poor sucker dies crushed, smeared, dismembered by tons of machinery.

Pity, because i find DS1 very interesting game. :(

Batman: Arkham Asylum.
I only had to beat Joker right at the end of the game so I decided to run around looking for all the collectibles for the challenges and then my autosave didn't work cause I hadn't progressed anywhere in the storyline.

I'd collected about 50 things and unlocked another 2 challenges *teeth grind*

This happened to me for the first time only yesterday, was doing fine in a fight then all of a sudden Shep gets all Coyote Ugly on me and gets shot to pieces.

A more distance example from me would be Unreal Tournament (can't recall which version) where one glitch would have the habit of sending me high into the sky and I wont ever fall. Funny if it happens in a deathmatch, rage quit worthy when it happens in the dying seconds of a CTF and I have the flag.

As someone mentioned above, internal battery failure during a game of pokemon minutes after catching a shiny pokemon. If you are not aware, the odds of running into a shiny pokemon are 0.0001220703125%. You can play this game for a year and never see one.

"Most rage you've ever experienced at a game glitch."

I think your title is suggestive to a certain PC glitch (I'm joking nobody ***** about it)

But yeah RAGE's pc texture crap pissed me off and lucky I didn't buy it before seeing the videos.

BF3 seems to crash pretty often for me.

Just the other day I raged like mad after joining a 64-player Conquest server, getting into an AH1-Viper, finding out that the Pilot actually knew what he was doing, getting 56 kills in four minutes and then seeing a black screen followed by a crash report, resulting in me no longer playing with that awesome pilot and the stats NOT getting logged.

>.<

Raged so hard after I lost my oblivion character after he got stock in a rock, then accidently saved over it. (Don't judge, I must have been tired and wasn't looking properly and clicked save rather than load.)

Heh, It's not really a glitch, just terrible misfortune: I came home from school one day eager to finish Red Faction(PS2) and I was at this part where I had to run Parker through a space ship while a timer was counting down to self destruction. Well, Lightning struck very close to my house so I got up to check outside (forgot to pause v.v)... And when I came back I tried to rush to the end and it auto-saved me with 10 seconds left(when the end was only ~14 seconds away). I had to start ALL the way over because of that....

Another Enraging glitch was Fable TLC: During the arena fight Willow(or what ever her name was) just hugged the spinning-blade trap the ENTIRE fight.

I wouldn't call it rage but I uninstalled Farcry 2 after I got stuck in a room at one point in the game.

I went to go receive a faction mission from one of the mission givers and I saved as I entered the room (overwriting my previous save). Once in the room I discovered that the NPC giving the quest wasn't in the room and the door was locked. I walked all over the room looking for anything that would allow me to trigger an action and the only thing I could find was the open door action. Which didn't work because the guard on the door kept telling me to "speak to the boss".

Who wasn't in the room.

And I couldn't get out of the room.

Or revert to a previous save.

I searched online and found that it wasn't an isolated problem and the tip people gave was to revert to an old save or start over.

This was about 80-90% into the game so I couldn't be bothered and gave up.

I had fun with the game, but if the game didn't want me to advance then I didn't want to either.

I can never remember my most 'x' of anything, but more recently a friend and I struggled with a particular Legends of the Wasteland mission in Rage. If it wasn't one of us getting stuck on the elevator, behind an invisible barrier, it was an issue of magically re-appearing several steps back, which happened to be before we used the elevator. Either way it prevented us from completing the mission, a few times over. Thankfully there was an easy way to avoid the issue, but still, having to redo a mission, especially on Nightmare, isn't exactly what either of us wanted.

EDIT: Huh, it seems I raged the most in Rage. >.>

Yeah that sucked.

Also in fallout 3 (and Morrowind I think) my game crashed with my last save 2 hours before...
