1) There are some pretty aggravating jumps in the first Soul Reaver game...I'm thinking specifically of the Drowned Abbey, where you have to make several extremely fiddly jumps between several extremely thin rafters. Missing a jump means falling into the water below, and since Raziel hasn't gained the ability to swim yet, he gets dumped back into the Spectral Realm and has to start the whole sequence over from the beginning. >_<
2) There's an area in King's Quest VIII: Mask of Eternity where you have to jump across a series of rocky platforms in a pool of lava. The platforms are pretty big, so they aren't that hard to land on, but the way Connor's jumps are programmed, his standing jump usually doesn't take him far enough and his running jump takes him too far. So the best way I found to make the jumps? Backflip. My dad saw me doing this, and said something along the lines of "Yeah, I've always thought backflipping would be the smartest way to get across a pool of lava."
3) Shadow of the Colossus, the jump from the last Colossus's right hand to his left shoulder. I have no idea how I did it in the first place--I just took a mad flying leap of faith when he brought his hand in closer to his chest and BARELY made it. And it was only after I'd beaten the game that I found out you aren't even supposed to make that jump--you're supposed to shoot an arrow at a weak spot in his shoulder so that he grabs his shoulder with his hand! Except...every time I try doing that, I just end up missing a dozen times, then running out of grip strength and falling off. ;_; So I still consider that jump a valid solution, even if it is insanely hard.
