Most Unnecessary Sequals/Cliff-Hangers

In the game Infamous (A game I have recently managed to play all the way through)upon beating the final boss it ends in a completely arbitrary cliff hanger that introduces atleast two major plot points that were just barely hinted at during the game. I was expecting some kind of final, final boss before tying up the plot with a vague message or cut scene hinting at a sequal, a habit of games that i'm not found of but have come to accept.
While I'm not a fan of the vague sequal hint ending I find it better then an all out cliffhanger that is wholly unnecessary or poorly executed, this is multiplied when dealing with an entire sequal that adds story were story does not need to be added. (I don't know if you agree but I think the Star Wars franchise is a prime example of this)
In hopes that I am not the only one who feels this way I am asking you "Escapist Forum" what sequals/cliffhangers did you find most unnecessary

Just Cliffhangers in general Are bad for Games. You have to give the player a sense of accomplishment cliffhangers take that away...

Not for games, but two movies I found had needless sequels, I still saw and enjoyed them anyway, but felt they weren't necessary in a story sense.

Shrek 2 and Hellboy 2.
The endings to the first ones wrapped up everything fairly nicely.

Kingdom Hearts 2.

That final cutscene with Riku, Kairi and Sora? If you're going throw something labled "SEQUEL!" at us, don't make us wait so damn long! According to my knowledge, it has been 5 years already! Grrr.

S.Darko, I loved Donnie Darko, but the sequel was so boring I turned it off half way through. Thankgully I'm not one of those fan boys that thinks it ruins the first one.

But Shrek 2 was awesome!

Uncharted 2 takes the award for most necessary cliffhanger, (more literal that you might think) but I can't really think of a game with an unnecessary cliffhanger. Bioshock 2 would take the award for most unnecessary sequel though...

Assassin's Creed. Terrible ending to a terrible game.

Bioshock 2 is not a great sequel. It's not really needed and just serves to make Bioshock look a lot better by comparison.
