How are the mechanics? How does it function?

All the reviews I've read give it about 67%, which doesn't make me too keen to go out and purchase a copy.

Theres also the Floris Mod Collection (or similar name) doesn't change the game considerably but just makes what is there better,just a mod collection in other words...

Yeah, Prophesy of Pendor kicks ass. It's a personal favorite for me, I played it since the first M&B.
