How do you like your mouse for FPS gaming? Personally I like the sensitivity quite low compared to my friends, leaving it at 3-4. It works for me.

How about you guys?

I normally have to ramp it all the way up, since most developers seem to think the majority of the bar should be used on speeds that feel like mouse smoothing is being used.

Why no one can just implement the mouse speed bar like they do in Valve games is beyond me.

Highest possible down to 3rd highest always unless the game developer has made the sensitivity INCREDIBLY ridiculous.

I've heard that using a low sensitivity and a large mouse pad is optimal, but I prefer higher sensitivity, usually around 3/4 along the sensitivity bar in my Control Panel and/or on an in-game slider. My wireless gaming mouse has a pair of buttons that increase/decrease the DPI (I think I use around 1800? only 2/6 of the levels)
I like being able to turn the camera quickly, and I can't stand navigating menus slowly

Pretty high. In Source games it's 6-7 I think.
A friend of mine plays with twice that, it's insane -.-

I usually like it cranked up (big time Quake player) but I've had it down for a while now since I don't have a computer desk and my mouse sits directly on the carpet...

It actually works way better than you'd think, but I still can't have the sensitivity turned up too much or the gaps in the carpet make it too jumpy.

I don't tend to mess with the mouse sensitivity in the games options, I just keep them at default unless I really need that extra adjustment. My mouse 6 DPI adjustments that I can do on the fly by just pressing a button behind the scroll wheel.

So yea, i end up just tweaking my mouse sensitivity that way because it's a lot quicker. I normally have it on 2000 or 2500 DPI depending on the situation.

max possible all the time regardless of game or not, it makes your reactions faster in my opinion and also speeds things up when using 2 monitors. my friends dont like using my computer due to the speed but my mouse does have dpi buttons to change it, really handy if your using a sniper rifle

I turn it up up up, need to turn fast, need to backstab.

When I move my mouse, I don't want it to twiddle for pinpoint aiming, I want it to blow it's load.

You should get a mouse with a 'sensitivity button'. I got one of those. It has three settings. And it's just awesome! Perfect for Bad Company 2, so I can max the sensitivity when I jump into a tank so I can turn the turret faster.

Low. Of course.

I currently have sensitivity "1" in CS:S. Of course other adjustment take effect as well. There are no speed system standard.

Shouldn't really need to buy a new mouse for something so simple though - although I never had any trouble with BC 2's settings.

The highest I can get usually, since I try to keep a steady hand and keep movements to a minimum, still when something scares me in a game, I'll whip the mouse on accident and my camera will be facing 180 degrees away.
