Just got finished watching Sin City, and I'm in a huge movie mood. Anyone here at the Escapist have any recommendations for another movie like this?

Well, I've never seen Sin City, but The Road Warrior is always good, but it's aged a little poorly, so all the threats seem a little silly now.

Similar? How so? Graphically? Story-wise? Big battles? What?

Just, everything. Story is probably best though.

What do you want? Name a genre: Sci-fi, horror, action, romance?

The one I recommend to many is 28 Days Later.

I can't name anything in the same genre off the top of my head, but I just finished watching Inception again and I'd thoroughly recommend that.

28 Days Later IS pretty sweet. As is 300. (It's also a graphic novel adaption like Sin City was)
But otherwise, I've never seen anything similar to Sin City that really struck me as amazing. They really pulled off the comic-book feel, I loved it. And it took a crime movie and made it funny and creepy at the same time.

Eh. We watched part of Silence of the Lambs today in psychology. That's a good movie. I guess its kinda similar?

When I read Sin City, I immediately thought of Dark City, and then thought of Metropolis, which made me think of Blade Runner, so those 3.

That would be nice! My Psych. class just gets old HBO specials...anyway, I've seen it, and I love it.

YES! Dark City. I love that movie.

I will now recommend Dark City; Watch the Directors Cut Edition though. It turns the movie from really good, to really awesome.

Its the first time we've gotten to watch anything other than 3 minute video clips (like HBO stuff). We were studying personality disorders, he wanted to show a good example of what someone with antisocial behaviour is like. :)

OT: Going with the comic book thing, what about Hellboy? Or Constantine? I actually quite liked both.

REALLY good? ... no. Pretty good? yes.
Constantine is better. I didn't receive a whole lot of attention though. It's actually one of the only movies that I think Keanu Reeves did a good job on.
