This may seem like a random question, but it has been bugging me for some time. I was just wondering what movie review or reviewers do you listen too if you want to know if a movie is worth checking out.

For me, I tend to go to the At The Movies guys (Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz), I like them because they tend to balance each other out, Lyons like the more casual movie, but can enjoy a serious movie and Mankiewicz is a more serious movie kind of guy, but can also respect a more casual movie.

I like rotten tomatoes or metacritic but those are really a collection of different reviewers.

I don't. The local theater is $5 for new release if I show up before noon and if I like the previews, I'll see it.

I'm my own reviewer, because no two peoples oppinions are the same.

I don't really care about movie reviews to be honest, If the trailers look good then I'll go and see it.
I can blow a few quid on cinema tickets in the name of fun, if the movie turns out garbage, most likely I'll have been heckling it throughout anyway so no money lost there.

I don't view movies in the same light as videogames when it comes to reviews because buying a bad video game leaves a bad taste in my mouth, a bad movie does not.

I listen to my brother and his friend, who fortunately for me like the same movies I do. Most movie critics just don't quite think on the same page I do.

I just listen to my good friend who is a huge movie buff and hopes to be a director someday.

Anytime there's a movie I want to go see I always give him a call first to see if its any good.

I like rotten tomatoes because it compiles a large number of reviews so that you aren't just listening to the opinion of one person.

i listen to the 'general' reviews, my friend is a big movie buff and checks that stuff.

but generally a trailer will tell me whether or not i want to see a movie.

I generally don't trust movie reviewers after they said that "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" was great.
What!?!?!? That movie was amazing. It was very original and the acting was....AHHH I can't take it anymore! That movie was a snorefest. That and Angelina's "acting" was as bad as her acting in any movie she's in.

I rarely watch movies these days. When I do, I often find some random review off the site where I get movie times, if I bother looking for a review at all.

I prefer reading the reviews to see exactly what it is that they didn't like instead of just checking the score. (Usually in the "Reception" entry on Wikipedia :p)

And then I ignore them.
