I hate to do this because it feels selfish but i need some help finding good movies.

Can we make a list of movies that are generally very enjoyable, im not talking silence of the

lambs and stuff im talking about clever movies that make you feel lost within them or attached to the characters.

Movie's like fistful of dollars, they live, ted, lord of the rings, the warriors.

Really smart clever movies that are must sees but easy to miss if you're only 18

If you liked A Fistful of Dollars, Yojimbo is what it's based on and is much better in my opinion (and I like Fistful of Dollars quite a bit). While you're at it, watch Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Ikiru, and the rest of Kurosawa's awesome movies.

Also: Moon or Primer- for high concept sci-fi
Safety Not Guaranteed or Terri- for some lovably awkward comedy/drama stuff
anything made by Wes Anderson- because they're generally good and fun movies. Why not?
Take Shelter or Martha Marcy May Marlene- for dark, personal dramas
This is Spinal Tap- because everyone should see this movie

Bladerunner is one that is a must see that you may have missed out on if you're a bit younger. If you like it, there's a ton of movies that it inspired from visual design to full on plot points which you could check out next.

Hell, if you put in Star Wars episode II right after you finish it, it's like the same movie! (fnar fnar)

OT:Dazed and Confused is a high quality 80s feel-good.

Also, it's set in Texas, so it's automatically better by means of elitism.

In Bruges

Watch it. It is awesome. It's a dark comedy of two British hit men, played by Colin Ferrel and Brendan Gleason, in the city of Bruges, Belgium. Gleason's character loves the city. Ferrel's hates it. They're there to assassinate someone, but it goes horribly wrong and their boss, played by Ray Fines, is pissed. Fines's character goes out looking for Ferrel who fucked up and tries to kill him. It's both really sad and really goddam funny. Here:
Still don't want to watch it? The Hell is wrong with you?!

Because that's more or less exactly what you've just done.

Hell effin' yes! It's simply brilliant. Almost sickeningly dark, but absolutely hilarious and even touching.

Maybe you should narrow the criteria down a bit, because otherwise people are just going to post all their favorite films. As for me: Anything by Studio Ghibli (seriously), X-Men First Class, the Toy Story trilogy, Big Lebowski, V for Vendetta, Gran Torino and A Serious Man (if you've got a taste for Coen brothers movies, it's really weird but IMO hilarious).

October Sky is a favorite of mine, if you like Christopher Nolan and you wanna try one of his earlier/weirder films you can try Memento.

some people don't enjoy sad endings, if that were the case, I am warning them away. Anyways as soon as the movie starts in both cases you can tell its going to end that way so it isn't much of a spoiler anyways.

OT: I forgot to mention Red October which is a cold war film about a soviet submarine, and I won't spoil this because it would ruin the suspense the director builds up.

Oh and any Arnold governator films, they are all classics and loaded with pop culture references

I am also assuming you have watched the old James Bond films

There Will Be Blood, beautiful movie about the early days of oil drilling in the states, religion, late 1800's family values and with one of the greatest actors, Daniel Day Lewis.

Memento, a very unique movie. You start at the end of the movie and plays till the beginning. Confusing? Yeah, it is. It's also a really captivating and clever thriller.

Donnie Darko, a very complex and dark psychological thriller featuring a large bunny of doom. Yes, you should go see it.

I just going to suggest Moon.
Sam Rockwell is one heck of an actor seeing as he carries the film all by himself.
Well, maybe not ALL by himself, Kevin Spacey's in there too but there's no acting coming out of his character.
And Clint Mansell wrote an absolutely BEAUTIFUL score for the film.

Donnie Darko is another personal favorite although I had to go online to find something explaining it to me.

I can't really say I've ever been truly lost in a film, but if you want something fun to watch I'd recommend Starship Troopers.

If you liked A Fistful of Dollars, then I'd like to recommend Once Upon a Time in the West, another Sergio Leone film - its in a similar vein, but probably the best 'Spaghetti Western' I've seen. Brilliant cast, glorious soundtrack and an epic story.

None of the trailers really do it justice, so I'll just post this clip. It's only part of the first 10 minutes or so of the film, so no real spoilers, but you get a taste for it.

Aaaaand we're done here. (By the way, I dressed as Frank the giant bunnyrabbit for halloween and won an award)

Since you already picked the movies I was gonna say, how about Fight Club?
