There are many movie trillogies that start with good movies with promising ideas but have really bad 3rd installments (The Matrix, The Godfarther) and I am sick of hearing about them So lets name some good ones.

My top 3 are The Return of the King, Back to the future part 3 and Indy and the Last Crusade (Shut up the are 3 and OBLY 3 Indy movies).

The Bourne Ultimatum is the best Bourne movie imho.

Toy Story 3 is awesome, though you can debate forever if it's the best one.

Also, Halo 3 was the best Halo.

The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption was the best of the 3 Scorpion King films.
Proof within. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.375545-Sassafrass-to-the-YT-Movies-Scorpion-King-3-Battle-For-Redemption]

I'm going to have to agree with Sassafrass and point out that <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.375364-2-50-Reviews-The-Scorpion-King-3-Battle-for-Redemption-2012>Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption is amazing.

Say what you want about how bad Matrix Revolutions was (and it was), but I got to see a live action DBZ fight.

I could think of worse ways to end a movie.

I'd argue that Jackass 3 was at least AS GOOD as Jackass 2, but I'd hesitate to call it "better".

I'm not sure what's going on with the all the Scorpion King 3 love. I gave the movie a try, and after about half an hour, I couldn't see any redeeming part of the film at all :|
Even if it picks up, I can't imagine it being better than the decently mediocre Scorpion King (1).

I agree with the LoTR, Bourne, and Indiana Jones opinions above, and I'd also like to add The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly as the best installment of the Dollars trilogy.

Also, Revenge of the Sith is probably the best of the three prequel films, unless the general sentiment is still that these movies never existed?

It picks up and actually starts making sense after the first half hour is over. That's definitely the worst part of the film.

Forgive me for being skeptical, but I can't see the characters becoming more likable (the Rock plays a much more tolerable cocky asshole than whoever this new replacement is...), the script getting less uninspired, or the whole thing looking less low-budget! But your reviews usually seem pretty good, so I'll grab it the next time I see it in a Redbox...

I can not think of one 3rd installment in any trilogy's I could call better. Only that I prefered Return Of The Jedi in the Star Wars original trilogy, and I enjoyed Lethal Weapon 4 over LW3.

I, myself, am usually more partial to the second film in trilogies. The Two Towers and The Temple of Doom (dark Indy is best Indy) are two big examples. However, the one third film that is my favourite in a trilogy, is Smokey and the Bandit 3, even though there is no Bandit. One of the few comedies I can enjoy.

Eh, I kind of, much to my equally fanish friend's dismay, think Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is the best. Had the most ship battles and answered many questions the series had been posing. I thought it was the best of the 3, personally.

I'm going to go completely opposite you, and say Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was not only better than The Temple of Doom, but also the best Indiana Jones movie of the three (There was never a true sequel to Indy 3 in my book. Decent movie, would have been better if it hadn't been labeled Indiana Jones. Way to much to live up to).

Also, Toy Story 3 was good, I was even moved a bit at the end, but it wasn't as good as the first one for me. The story felt a little less forced. I don't know why, but Toy Story 3 felt to forced in the story department.

Hmm, maybe it is just my nostalgia calling (Temple of Doom was my first Indy film, and I used to watch that to death when I was really young). The whole heart-tearing, pit-lowering, crowd-yelling, drum-playing scene while Indy and his companions watched from the top is still one of my all-time favourite film scenes.

As for the newer one, I actually thought it was decent. While Indy's son-sidekick guy was somewhat annoying, he wasn't downright irritating. The storyline I thought was pretty cool too. It wasn't a terrible film.

There are a few that I like such as Spider-Man 3, Return of the Jedi and, Toy Story 3.
Cmon even revenge of the sith is better than return of the jedi. The movies whole plot is"oh the had another death star" and then freakin ewoks somehow pwn the troopers...oh the agony.
The only real good part is the resolution with the remaining 3 jedis.
