I'm sure you guys have had this sort of thread, but the forums have a 2 week bump restriction, so here we go.

Also sorry ladies, this is the boys only movie club. No chick flicks.

I'll start if off with some of the basics

1. The thing
You just can't miss this movie. From being innovative sci-fi to having a very low dependance on jump scares compared to the average horror movie, there are very few modern day horror movies that can attempt to scratch this classic.

2. Heat
This tries to be a generic and bland crime movie but fails. The criminals are too relatable and respectable too and you won't know who to root for even as they gun down law enforcement officers.

3. Jarhead
A modern day version of movies like fmj/platoon, the movie manages to keep you immersed for hours with it's ironic humor and soul piercing realism.

4. Das boot
It feels like you are a part of the crew after sitting through hours of this movie and watching men just try to survive naval bombardment. Does arguably the best job of capturing the horrors of war of any movie.

5. Sunshine
Although certain parts of this movie are godawful and the editing will occasionally make you feel like you are watching a nirvana music video, It brings together some amazing sci-fi with legendary visuals and an awesome score and places itself among the best sci-fi of the decade.

Serious answer: I'm pretty sure a woman can watch all of those movies and be ok with it. I'm also pretty certain that women shouldn't be defined in their tastes as chick flicks lovers only.

Comedic answer: I'm also PRETTY DAMN SURE THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN MOTHERFUCKING INCLUDED FIGHT CLUB OR PULP FICTION

Gone Girl.

Yup. Inbox is going to be flooded.

I'm kidding! But, really, it's a pretty interesting film.

Most of Arnold Schwarzenegger's movies are stereotypical guy flicks.

The Terminator
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Predator
Commando
True Lies
Total Recall
Eraser
Last Action Hero
Red Heat
Collateral Damage
The Sixth Day
Conan the Barbarian
Conan the Destroyer
The Running Man

And so on.

The Devil Wears Prada - totally worth it for the nude scene.

No? Okay, I'll treat this seriously then.

The Saint (1997) - What I wouldn't do to have a pocket knife that has integrated lock picks, button compass, and a blowtorch.
Spartan (2004) - Written with the help of CSM Eric Haney (ret.), one of the founding members of Delta Force.
Red Dawn (1984) - I truly love this movie in a non-ironic way. People assume it's pro-American propaganda but they're wrong.

Heat is my favorite film of all time! Also, my girlfriend liked it so I guess it doesn't belong on the list :p

I didn't want to sound too cliche

otherwise i'd also suggest lotr and inception, as if people havn't seen these sort of movies already.

whats the qualifier for being "male only" here? because 90% of mainstream movies are pretty much male centric by default

I would like to suggest Freaked to the suggestions. It is a fantastic break into the absurd. It has both Alex Winters and Keanu Reeves in it, as well as Mr. T, Bobcat Goldthwait, Randy Quaid, and Brooke Shields. A top-notch classic.

I guess you're going for "all male cast" movies, judging by your list. The Thing and Das Boot have an all-male cast, Jarhead only has a couple of brief scenes with women in them, Heat sidelines its 3 female characters and Sunshine only has a couple of actresses in it.

So you probably want movies like:

ALL MALE CAST

Twelve Angry Men, Glengarry Glen Ross, Sleuth, Master and Commander, Black Hawk Down, Lord of the Flies.

ALL MALE CAST (save extras/bit parts)

Stand By Me, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch., Revolver, The Hurt Locker, K-19 The Widow Maker, Apocalypse Now, Reservoir Dogs, The Dirty Dozen.

A WOMAN HERE AND THERE

Jaws, Find Me Guilty, Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/Thirteeen, The Road, All the President's Men, RocknRolla, Fight Club.

Conversely, the only movie with an all-female cast is... "The Women". And its remake.

Sean connery's bond films, Timothy Dalton's bond films, Roger Moore's bond films and Daniel Craig's bond films.
Just in an attempt to educate the male population of what defines : "class"
David Niven, George Lazenby and Pierce Brosnan aswell if you need extra lessons, but i consider them only slightly less classy as the aforementioned.

If this should prove ineffective, i'd recommend the Italian job, Ocean's Eleven through Thirteen, the Suits series and/or The Untouchables.

Enjoy

What? No Die Hard? It is the ultimate male movie. I suppose women could watch and enjoy it too...but...MEN!!

I don't know, the entire 80's?

As for my pick... Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Just a great big salty, male hoot-nanny!

Or does 'boys only' translate into 'movies I think are good?'
Goddamnit.
