I just realized something, something that I'm sure most of you may have already noticed (being the giant group of awesome non-conformist "smart" unique individually minded people we all are here).
Ooooooohhhh gggaaaawwwwdddd...... i hope they don't make a new Thundercats movie...
I loved Thundercats as a kid, along with He-Man, TMNT, Voltron, Transformers, the old X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons, etc, etc. As a youngin' I often wondered how awesome it would be to "update" these things with our awesome new technology.
But thats just it... IT WOULD NOT BE AWESOME!! Not anymore.
They took all the X - Men characters and put them all in generic full black leather uniforms (and they made Cyclops, my favorite mutant, suck).
They made a Incredible Hulk movie where the pacing and CGI wasn't uber great, but it connected rather well on an emotional and character level. And everyone hated it and they made a "new"-er Incredible Hulk movie filled with tons of expensive CGI and lack of chaarcter and emotional weight and cleverness or writing to make everyone happy.
The new IRONMAN movie SUCKED, consistiing only of a half-baked premise, even moar half-baked characters, and tons of expensive CGI, and people loved it. (Though, admittidly, Ironman himself is the only interesting thing in his universe, his villains and everything else also smells liek pooo).
The new Transformers movies took all of the things that made Transformers awesome in the first place (Intergalactic Civil War between two rivaling factions of space traveling super robots battling it out for the fate of the universe, that can also transform into lots of kool stuf) and chucked it out the window for a massive douchebag of a lead character (for all of the douchebag members of the audience to relate to), a crappy actress of a love interest (who looks like a generic, if expensive, blow up doll, for all of the afformetioned douchebag members of the audience to wet themselves over), and OMG!! EXPINSIVE CGI!!1 (To help keep the attention of the previously noted douchebag ADHD ridden members of the audience).
Of course they're going to screw up every other awesome franchise from yesteryear, and of course they're going to sell well. That we already know.
My question is, how is it that everyone says that they agree with this stuff, and yet we keep letting it happen? Most people will admit that movies depend too much on expensive CGI, or not enough time on script or storytelling, and that most movies SUCK nowadays. Yet they keep throwing there money at it.
This is kind of like how people will admit to everyone else being idiots, and everyone else is saying the same thing. No one believes themselves to be an idiot, yet were all saying were all idiots.... Trippy...
You all are weird.... Srsly...
