Movies that were good just the way they were, or ones that were so horrible they didn't need any demon offspring. Examples would be Shrek, Saw, Countless Disney movies, or any horror titles.

I agree with you for Movies; Shrek and SAW needn't have any sequels.

Games, however?

BioShock.

I'd say Jak and Daxter, but I enjoyed the sequel.

Pirates maybe, cause they actually could've ended it with the first movie...oh! and National Treasure.

Matrix, the first film was very good (despite a few plot holes) and I like the ending the next two films were like getting punched in the eyeballs.

Highlander.

Have you seen Highlander 2? Ugh...just...wow, changing Scots into aliens? Really?!?

I too am going with Shrek. The original was a clever well thought out and different movie and now it's just become another money making franchise, each sequel ended on a perfectly good logical closure point and yet they kept making sequels anyway.

I hear they want to make another Eragon. I dearly hope I misheared because that'd be awful.

And of course the Matrix, especially the third one.

Agreed. I'd also put forward the Alien series - Alien was awesome, Aliens not so much and both 3 and Ressurection should have been left on the cutting-room floor.

Pirates of the caribbean did not need sequels, theyré still pretty good but can't match the original.

the matrix and shrek are obvious
the fast and the furious went from awesome to mediocre, especially the last one
Night at the museum 2 is also a lot weaker then the original

Aliens.

Alien and Aliens worked nicely, two different takes on the same idea, alien 3 and resurrection?

they should never have been made.

Almost anything Disney, pretty much the same as you said...Shrek and Saw were great movies which went downhill increasingly with every sequal.

Hmm let's see. Maybe Underworld if you ignore that ending bit, but that might just be my preference. Butterfly Effect, although I haven't seen the third. On the flipside, the Grudge even though I haven't seen the first.

Eh there are so many, but not many are coming to me now. I have failed you, thread creator :(

EDIT: If in-production sequals count, I'ma add Dark Crystal. Who knows, maybe it can work, but the original was great on it's own and really doesn't need a continuation.

The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull...I just wish that film could be erased from existence.
