Everyone has the one movie, or even several, they like. I do mean like in a un-ironic stance, a movie you genuinely like/love despite what others say about it.

Mine is Operation Dumbo Drop.

For those who don't know what it's about, basically is a PG Vietnam movie by DISNEY.
This movie is set in 1968(nice, disney) where a captain and co has to deliver an elephant and a young boy named Linh to a remote village after the captain kinda caused the death of the former elephant.
Holy shit does this film has problem, like making the vietnam war a kids movie for one and its may moments of cheesiness, but as a kid i loved this movie and still do as an adult.
The movie has its good moments and a heart i can appreciate today.

What movie(s) do you genuinely like, fellow escapees?

The A-Team and Starsky and Hutch films, most Arnie and Willis films, basically all dumb action films. I find some of them have a real charm that is much better than other more respected films.

Disney films or other `kids` films.
Why- because they're awesome and pretty much everyone knows it.
Boyfriend likes to pretend he's not into it but I see him watching from behind my 3DS.

You're never too old to enjoy kids films.

Starship Troopers. I know people would think it's cheesy and dumb and full of gore, action and T&A, well... they are right and that's why I love it.

There is absolutely nothing that I am ashamed for liking for I am an open book and old enough that I don't care what any of you young whipper snappers think! :D

For movies, I'll just start listing and you can tell me when your brain has burst due to hatred:
-Moulin Rouge (I'm a dude...I freaking love musicals period)
-Aliens Resurrection (really any of them but 3 is my least favorite so I get cool credit for that, right?)
-Amazing Spider Man
-Man of Steel (shameless plug [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.841189-Poll-Man-of-Steel-Why-the-hatred])
-Boondock Saints 2 (very polarizing between fans)
-Crank, Crank 2, Shoot'em Up, really most dumb action films
-Day of the Dead
-Godzilla (98? The American one)
...are you still alive? Have I given you a stroke yet?
-The Waterboy
-The Replacements
-Matrix Trilogy (yes, all of them)
-Starship Troopers
-Batman & Robin (told you I was going to go back in time and ninja you!)

I could likely do this all day but I'm pretty sure everyone hates something I've listed by now so I'll go ahead and stop

I've been told, by maybe one person ever, that loving <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.375364>The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption is not something to be proud of. I don't care. It's the best movie ever made.

It's not a guilty pleasure; it's a genuine love.

God dame it, you beat me to it. I have to agree, it's an enjoyable movie, and I don't care what the guys who take the book seriously think.

Starship Troopers, Man with the Iron Fist, Army of Darkness, The Resident Evil series, Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, and the fucking Spice Girls Movie.

I get weird looks about the last one. Everyone involved in the movie knew exactly what kind of movie they were making and went a long for the ride, and it's brilliant.

I just enjoy cheesy and it's-so-bad-it's-awesome movies.

Ditto.

I had a phase in my teens where I liked darker "mature" movies, but now I wholly love kids shows as an adult. I love the optimism of kids shows.

Disney, Looney Toons, Underdog, Rescue Rangers, The Rescuers, etc etc. All excellent "kids" cartoons that I love.

I genuinely enjoyed the first Transformers movie. The sequels were bleh, but the first one was a lot of fun.

Why you gotta be a ninja?

OT: I've said more than enough times on these forums that I like the Star Wars prequels, liked Star Trek Into Darkness, The Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit, and Man of Steel, et cetera.

Les Miserables was awesome, I still love the first Pokemon movie and the Digimon movie, so on and so forth. I think I'd be fairly hard-pressed to think up a film I am "ashamed" of enjoying.

EDIT: Oh, and how can I forget Batman & Robin? That movie is hilarious.

That's kind of funny because I can't stand their music and I've watched it more times than I can remember when it came out on video.

It's been a really long time since I've seen it, but I do remember enjoying the cheese-fest that it was. :D

Many movies. Doom, Chronicles of Riddick, The Dead Space animated movies, Silent Hill Revelations, and most recently, I, Frankenstein. Oh my god I adored that movie with all my heart.

Cause that's how I roll!!!

And now for my next trick, I will go back in time and ninja you again! How could I have forgotten Batman & Robin with Arnold's chilling (tee hee!) performance as Mr. Freeze?

ICE TO MEET YOU!!!!!

Disney's Chicken Little is considered to be atrocious but I just love that move to bits. I related to awkwardness as a middle schooler.

Since the term 'guilty pleasure' holds no meaning for me, the answer is 'any movie that I've ever seen'.

zeus bless you for all of these. Totally agree, love dumb action films and those 3 are definitely close to the top.

OT:
A knights tale
holy fuck do I love every last detail about this movie, the humor mixed in with medeival style shit and they had the perfect actors for it. I can't tell you how often I quote Alan Tudyk and Paul Bettany from that film. (PAIN. LOTS OF PAINNN.)

Sex drive
(james marsden was fucking hilarious in this, if you dare challenge this I will crush you.)

Kung Pow the humor in this movie is pure genius, it has filled my life with neverending quotes that haven't lost their funniness over the years yet

Ditto on this, Hell there isn't a single week that goes by that you won't catch me singing/whistling/humming these songs, they are so awesome:

Uhh... the Hellboy movies?

I don't actually know what their reputation is, or even if they have one, but I think they're the best comic-to-movie adaptions I've ever seen me. (Yeah, you read that right Marvel fans.)

They look fantastic, they get the balance of straight-facedness and lightheartedness almost perfectly right, and Ron Perlman is reliably awesome as always. Bit corny at times, but oh well.

Un-ironic you say? Well I was raised with MST3K and have been a fan of the so-bad-it's-good mentality since I can remember.
But there are still a lot of "bad", "dumb" or just "cheesy" movies that I also or only enjoy on an unironic level.

Many of them are very old, but one more recent one I haven't seen mentioned yet is Beowulf (1999) which has Christopher Lambert in a movie even more silly and fun than Highlander.

In a similar vein Kull the Conqueror was a lot of fun, and I enjoy the very goofy Hercules: The Legendary Journeys tv show Kevin Sorbo did as well.

Hm just to name a few of the others that haven't been mentioned in the thread already...
Batman (1966)[footnote]And of course the related TV show. You probably think "Why does this need defending?" But you'd be surprised how many dark and gritty fanboys Adam West makes cry.[/footnote] Planet of the Apes (1968), Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.

Lifelong fan of the Godzilla series and really love some of those movies, though there are others that can put me to sleep. And some that are just painful. (Lookin' at you, "Godzilla's Revenge")
