Okay, a long time ago, I watched with movie about a middle-aged woman (I never got her name) who lives in this nice house out in a somewhat wintry forest, she later encounters this weird psychopathic man who throughout the movie holds the woman captive in her own house and tries almost constantly to keep her tried to various furniture while he tells the woman about his backstory.

And a good chunk of the movie consists of the woman cooking various ways to either fight off her captor or escape.

And she seriously needed to get creative with how she tries to kill her male captor, seriously, the man got stabbed with a steak knife to the chest and not only was unfazed, but he then started stabbing himself in the arm with it while weird images started coming out of him. And afterward he just keeps moving around like he was never hurt.

Spoiler alert! the woman finally killed him with a shotgun after utilizing some elaborate strategy that tricked the man into leaving the house (and I think at some point the woman ran him over with her car and he still survived)

Anyone have any idea what the name of that movie was?

And does anyone else have movies with titles you can't remember?

Sorry that I can't help with your movie, just doesn't ring a bell to me.

My own movie has been bugging me for years and I'm not even sure if it was a movie or tv series and I only remember bits and pieces of it. It had a scene of ghost ship sailing on a sea and some people go aboard it and find skeleton (or more?). I think a sea monster then comes up and tries to eat the ship, but I don't remember if it succeeds or not.

Later there's some sort of somber parade, maybe a funeral procession in some city, I vaguely remember really tall towers or walls surrounding the people. one of the towers/walls has a gargoyle and a man standing on top of it. Now, either the man somehow makes the gargoyle come alive and attack the people beneath him, or he just hits the statue until it drops on the unaware people.

Also, some of the people may have had army uniforms that resembled British Empire's style maybe from the 18th or 19th century?

Saw parts of this Japanese or Korean movie on premium TV about fifteen years ago. It takes place in these shacks and little houses built on a marsh. There was a part where this woman hid the guy she was (I think) secretly having sex with in the water under her house. She pulled him up through a floorboard with a fishing line and then pulled the hooks out of his flesh. I think he breathed through a bag while submerged. There wasn't a lot of dialogue.
That sounds like The Isle

I remember a scene that I always thought was from the movie meatballs, until I rewatched meatballs a few months ago and discovered that this scene wasn't in it. It's probably another Bill Murray film.

He was trying to impress this woman by pretending that this kid who hangs around was actually his and that he looks after him, so he convinces the kid to have dinner with them by promising to pay him some amount of money for every pea that he eats (or it could have been some other vegetable). And then at the dinner scene, the kid counts how many he's eating out loud.

I remember watching a movie when I was a young kid but I can't remember much about it, I remember that it had a guy travailing in a post apocalyptic world and he met/rescued? a young girl and they traveled about a while doing cool actiony things until near the end one of them dies (I can't remember which). The only reason I remember this is because it was the first movie I watched that had a main character die in it and stay dead which upset me at that age and I wasn't aloud to watch that movie ever again. I'm pretty sure thinking back it was an anime movie but at that age I wouldn't know what an anime was so I may be wrong about that.

I've been searching off and on for years but I have so little to go on that I have little hope to find it.

I remember that scene but can't remember what it was from.

I remember watching some dumb Matrix knock-off, only it was themed with magic. The Morpheus figure was "Simon Magus" I think.
