Let it ever be known that I procrastinate SO DAMN BADLY!

I should have made this thread months ago way before I had ever moved in.

However, at this point, I have already moved into my dorm at my residence.

I am in Seneca College in Canada.

Anybody offer advice? What to do? How to live? Anything at all? Right now I am feeling so scared...., I don't want high school to repeat, I acted dumb then, I want to change myself and be a much better dude.

Willing to drink, smoke (only weed ;p), and party, I bet that will help lots! But otherwise, friends, marks, and everything else, please offer anything! I'm listening intently to everyone here!

Thanks a million!!!

If you're having trouble finding friends, try looking up some student clubs hosted by your college. The great thing about going to clubs is that you know you have at least ONE thing in common with everybody there when you walk in. Also, try making some friends in the classes that pertain to your major. If you're friends with people in the same program as you, then not only do you know you'll see a lot of each other in semesters to come, but you also have a convenient pool of study-buddies to draw on if you want to form a study group.

*Apologies*
A friend of mine, my best friend really, told me about his days spent at Duke University. He was very bright from a young age and never really had to study for anything. It turned out he spent the vast majority of his free time learning other things and playing his N64 in the dorm. A couple of guys started hanging out with him and, seeing how my friend loved his N64, they spent a lot of their free time playing games with him. This was a mistake for everyone hanging out with him. They saw him goofing off and, using a herd mentality as an excuse, didn't study as much as they should, while my friend passed with flying colors easily.

Don't be that guy, thinking that just because someone else is goofing off that it's free license for you to do the same. You don't know what their situation is. Think about it, even kids going to Duke made the simple mistake of procrastinating. You don't want to find yourself unprepared for mid-terms or worse, finals, and have to cram at the last minute. If you're really the procrastinator you say you are, you'll remember that awful despair felt in the pit of your stomach any time you were caught unprepared. Remember that feeling. Friends will come naturally. There will always be time for goofing off later, like in the summer. Don't forget why you're there.

Thanks you! My procrasnatioan is very bad
But I would dare say that I'm also somewhat bright. In high school I never really studied and only paid half attention in class, and I always ended up with a high B average.

However now in college I wanna change that. I was given a callender and planner which I will use daily. I will try to break it but its so tough! Laziness is such a big demon of mine, I barley know how to fight it.

I gotta roomie who's a gamer! He's kinda anti social though and I hope we get along, even though I worry that we will barley talk.

Going to join my schools gym and a few clubs, definitely the e sports club! Still on the fence about joining a sports team. But if I join the team than I can't get a job :(

I'm sorry that all of my college advice posts sound like me announcing the end of days. It's always doom and gloom with me. My problem is that you never know when opportunity will strike.

Thing is, my friend at Duke knew another guy he stayed friends with for a few years. This other guy was once approached by another student who was leaving Duke to start work with a new gaming company (back in the 90s). This friend of my friend turned them down, thinking that games were for the immature. Years later we found out the name of that company:

Bungie

Luck favors the prepared. I only hope that when opportunity comes along for you, it won't require you to drop out of school!

Lets hope so too!

Independent tips? I still don't think that the idea of independence has sunk in yet...

And how do you folks deal with laziness and procrasnation? I have days where the hours will slip away like seconds, its damn scary.

Join an intramural sports team or something, that way you will get out of your dorm. You will make friends and stuff will branch from there. Make sure you save time for homework.
